I found out today that I may need to get my mouth wired shut because of a fracture along my cheek and jaw. That is not what ticked me off though. What ticked me off is the guy who accidentally caused it, didn't own up to his mistake and ran away.
Whole Story:
I was at the gym with a buddy. We had just finished the bench press and we were moving the bar onto the incline bench because the other one was missing. I got behind the bench to lift the bar off. As I grabbed the bar and prepared to lift my eyes shut everything is black and fuzzy and there is a ringing noise.
I immediately know I was hit by something. I'm freaking out trying to figure out what stupid thing I just did. Did I stand up and hit my head on the bar? No that's impossible I was already standing. Did I turn into the rack? No that's fucking impossible I'm behind the bench. Did someone bump into me? Why then does this hurt so much. I heard a bunch of guys talking but I don't remember what was being said. I had to get down into a crouch so I could maintain balance because I couldn't see anything and I was clutching my face. I hear sorry sorry, and someone mentioning first aid. I hear it a few more times and it sounds like someone runs off and says he'll get first aid.
It takes me a minute to gather my senses I open my eyes asking what the fuck just happened and people are asking me what happened. My friend tells me all he knows is that he turned around when he heard me drop the bar and he sees an iron plate in midair, bounce off a bench and roll away. Another dude says that a guy beside him was swinging the plate around in rotations and he lost control or something and it left his hand. Right as that happened I had turned my face to check to make sure no one was in my way to where I was going to move the bar and that's the moment he lost control.
So after no one comes upstairs a guy says he'll go see what's going on and he goes downstairs to the front desk. When he comes back he's with first aid guy and the dude who hit me in the face is no where to be found. The cowardly shit took his stuff and booked it. It's not like I would have done anything. I am chill, and it was an accident. What disgusts me and depresses me to no end is that he fractured my fucking jaw, claimed to go get first aid, and then ran off and left me.

That's awful man, really awful. I don't know of a gym that doesn't have security camera's or one that doesn't require you to check in and check out, so you should have no issues with finding the guy. Ultimately, you may end up suing not the guy, but the gym. Either way, good luck and I pal around with lawyers if you ever need advice (when I say "pal around" I mean sometimes I google chat with old friends who are lawyers).
Smile: Looking forward to dinner tonight. It's basically bow tie pasta with feta, boiled roma tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic, and pepperoncini. I love simple pasta dishes that are simple and have a fresh taste to it. Ya know, filling, but you don't feel stuffed.
Ticked: I will never understand the idea of staying at work when there is no work to be done. What is the point of having someone at work when no work is to be done (see last sentence)? Salary for sitting? Sounds cool; money for nothing is always a good thing, but it's boring and counter productive.

@Xeogred
I feel ya man. I've had weird unspecified nagging problems over the past few years: Lots of fatigue, hunger/eating issues, frequent minor infections, etc. I fear that I'm developing type II diabetes (or I'm at least pre-diabetic right now). I've taken care of myself all my life (good diet, exercise, etc)... but my father is diabetic and his father was too so no matter what I do I can't stop genetics from kicking me square in the testicles.
So yeah, I best be hitting up the doctor soon too. Let's make February "everyone at Racketboy figure out their medical issues!" month lol.

February: The most profitable month for Physicians.
I once had a doctor ask me for a stool sample because I had a headache. Not to go Full Izzy, but I'd say 90% of doctors are hacks. I only say that because I'm friends with a bunch of doctors, and they'd be the first people to say it's all about pushing prescriptions.
There are some incredible doctors out there, but the majority are pharmaceutical salesmen. Not that that is bad, but a ton of bad apples out there. All I'll say is to make sure you quiz your doctor as if you are interviewing him/her. You have every right to, but no one seems to, question and ridicule (maybe too strong of a word) their physicians.
I will add that complaining about waiting time in a Dr.s office is wasted energy. You;ll wait, wait some more, and yes, it is due to bad management but it's because doctors aren't as smart as you may think they are, and they are talking due diligence to make sure everyone is taken care of (and to avoid lawsuits), and you certainly don't want them to rush when you're being checked out.

Ticked - So I thought everything was going well at work until today. Despite doing 20% of the workload for 30 people, I was told today that I am not doing enough, that I am combatative and hard to work with, and that "I heard you are starting rumors about me." So I got written up. It took every bit in my body to not tell her that I quit and to fuck off.
Smiled - A friend who works at our main competition, who we recently lost alot of sales reps to, just sent me an offer letter for my job at that company, for more money. I am going to the sales managers and director as soon as they get out of their meeting and telling them about it.

Wow, what a dangerous and ignorant comment, Luke. By that logic, I met a stripper named Luke, thus everyone named Luke is a stripper? Really?
Maybe your friends shouldn't be doctors? I too am friendly with many doctors (ding ding) in my professional setting and am also married into a family w/a few doctors. I take great offense to such a silly, uninformed comment.
Yes, i'm going to go to school for 6-8 years, work for free for 2 years, work 60 hours a week - so that I can be a drug pusher? Right, 90% are hacks - any citations on that bud? Ignorance begets ignorance - would've thought your "lawyer pals" might have told you that.

Ignorant means lacking information or knowledge... Quite the opposite here man. I'm sorry you take offense to my comment, and that was not my intent whatsoever. I deeply respect the few doctors who worked diligently and professionally with myself, my friends, and my family and had no intention of offending anyone. That said, if you don't think a lot of doctors are in it for the money, boy oh boy are you ignorant.
Uninformed? Possibly. No way can I say you're not 100% incorrect, not by a long shot. I've met and worked with surgeons, physicians, nurses, etc who care for their patients (and am also a certified assisted living administrator with hundreds of hours of volunteer work). That's rarely the case, and I have to stress "in my experience". You're a patient, a number, or the next path to a bonus. Without hesitation I'd say most doctors could give two shits about you or your health unless it pads their wallet. Pisses people off because they would like to think they are special, but your Grandma is just a check to most doctors. Think not? Ask one. Is any patient more special than another?
Nope.
Whoa. I think I'm channeling my inner-inazuma.
But in short, not to demean physicians, and they worked hard to get where they are. But that's the thing. When they reach their apex and are certified, they seem to lose focus. The checks are cashed.
Not to say all doctors are like this, and again not to offend you, but this is what I see in the real world every day. It's write the script and on to the next one.

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Well, my wife is a doctor.
I'm not sure that there's more "bad" doctors than there are bad teachers or bad lawyers, etc. I'll admit that a lot of doctors do make me apprehensive and I question the judgement of many I've seen over the years. I think the problem is that many seek an MD degree (or OD or DO or whatever) simply for status and money and really have no interest in science or medicine. There's people like this in all high paying jobs of course. I remember the engineering majors in college... "Man I'm gonna make so much money when I graduate!!!" "So you must really like civil engineering, huh?" "Duhh........."

Just make sure that you ask whoever is going to be your doctor the questions that are important. What equipment does he use? How long has he been practicing? Stuff like that. You are hiring him or her to do work for you. You should treat it as such and interview them accordingly, and find the best one for you.
Then you don't have to deal with the "bad" doctors.
