I had a copy of DK64 with a 99-hour save on it. I could never sink that much time into one single game.
I could see it (*ahem* Oblivion *ahem*), but how you could do it with DK64 is beyond me.

He had a brand new, never used, never opened JPN Master System and Mega Drive in storage. He told me if I made the drive out to where he had his stuff stored (about a 45 minute drive) that I could take them. I took them. This was the summer of 2008.

I work at Play-N-Trade and I can remember a few trade ins with some questionable stuff in and on them. Found a few dollars worth of quarters inside a Genesis, dead insects inside systems, but the worst one was about a year ago.
Someone brought in an original Xbox to trade in. I hooked it up to test it before we gave him anything, ejected the cd tray, and cockroaches started to crawl out. And not little ones, the big kind. I immediately pushed the disc tray closed. They tried to crawl back in and one even got stuck as the tray closed. I unplugged it and just pushed it back to the guy and told him to get it the hell out of the store. He just looked at me like "What's the big deal?" and then was mad that we wouldn't take it.

Now that's what I call a story!

Thought this topic would be about stuff like the WonderSwan.

Bought a dead GC console with controller. Opened it up and... rust. Rust. Everywhere. Even in the controller. Not a heavy amount mind you, but enough that it took a weekend's worth of scrubbing with steel wool and alcohol to get things clean (and working!) again.

Worst case of bugs I ever had was in one of my first PCs. When I realize it was running slower, I asked around to find out about computer maintenance (about 3~6 years after owning the system). I opened it up for a good dusting. I found a bunch of dead insects curled up on the floor of the case and some fried goo on the MB.

Which begs the question -- how did roaches wind up alive in... nevermind, they're roaches. (Geez, reminds me of that Anti-Drugs Captain America issue where the pushers are all alien roaches.)
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

My SNES from my childhood died when lightening hit our house. Due to my parents' insurance, we got a free boxed one. It worked perfectly fine, but I eventually wanted to mod it to play SFC games, and when I opened it up, I found a branch inside, like bent around in there. It was strange as all hell.

I bought a huge lot of about 30 n64 games for about 15 bucks from some tweakers at their yard sale and I assume they had cockroach eggs laid in them because I kept seeing small cockroaches emerge from them, I thought it was a fluke maybe in just a couple games I had a bag of 5 N64 controllers with the lot which I left outside after the discovery on the games I came back out there a few days later and the bag was full of about 30 small roaches.
