It should be noted that not everyone on racketboy - posts on racketboy. Most people lurk before joining up. Intolerance for views other than his own is a turn-off to those who hold the opposite view. Debate is great, but it was rarely debate in his posts - rather, i'm right, your wrong - oh, and your stupid for not grasping why you're wrong.

Additionally, not everyone offended by his posting would post their displeasure in the thread itself, many folks would take their concern straight to a mod - if i'm correctly interpreting what dsh and hobie are saying.

I can understand why some folks "like" him and think he's "good" for the forum. It's a rubbernecking phenomenon. Being a car-wreck in and of itself does not make a car-wreck a good thing - it can make it at times interesting, but for the most part it's just straight up damage. And if you constantly wreck your car, eventually your insurance company says, "We like you, but we can't insure you anymore."

I know i've enjoyed the forum just fine in the days he's been gone - there's enough to be upset and angered about in real life w/o someone creating drama where it doesn't belong.
