Blocking members doesn't do a lot of good when entire threads are repeatedly derailed because of them.

This is BS and this is precisely what I oppose. No single member can derail a thread. If he is spamming the thread, then block him due to being a spammer. If he posts something AND someone else replies, it is not him derailing the thread.

If people block him and don't reply, fine.

If people do reply to him, then who is any given group of users to decide "That is derailing the thread!"? Why is that not a valid direction for the thread if the users (not just that user) are combining to take it there? That is my point!

Obviously people were CHOOSING to spend their time to discuss with him, so I think it is BS if he got banned for "constantly derailing threads" or "irritating many users".
If he got banned for insulting other users then I'm fine with that.

I had plenty of conversations with Inazuma on the board and in PM's, hell, I even gave him the nick name Izzy. If I know the guy half as well as I think I do (I doubt anyone can really know the guy 100%)I'm pretty sure he would say something close to "Hey, it's not my site and censorship is bullshit, but it's in their right as owners/mods of the site to block what they want".

There is a RB Suggestion thread for those who want temp bans, but let's not start an entire thread about who got banned and why as it serves no purpose. The mods made a decision, and that's their business. This isn't my forum either, but I think this thread would serve better as a place to say that you miss Inazuma's posts, or to post some his funniest posts.

Also agree with this post by Luke. Also I'd like to keep in touch with Inazuma, so if anyone did keep in touch with him please send me a PM so that I can give you my e-mail to forward him, he can decide whether to contact me or not.

I can control whether or not I choose to block or ignore a member. I can't control whether other people choose to block or ignore a member. You shouldn't have to block members anyhow, it's detrimental to the community if everyone's blocking each other and only seeing half of conversations.

Also, seems like your post fell into a void too. Happened to me earlier. Again you can see it if you click 'reply' and scroll down but it doesn't pop up in the actual thread when you view it normally.

Must be some kind of glitch.

That is precisely my point. You can NOT control whether other people choose to block or ignore a member - nor should you be able to! This is precisely why I am against him banned for anything that was not strictly a rules violation. Given that he did insult people that is fair game, but I don't think "he derailed threads" would be a fair justification.

Mods have already stated (more than once even) that Inazuma was banned for violating the rules despite numerous warnings and given numerous chances. I don't know why you're pushing this idea that he was banned for derailing conversations or something, because nobody's even hinted that he was banned because of that.

You must be misunderstanding something as I'm not pushing that idea (check the selected part above). I was just defending my philosophy that it is better that individual users block other individual users. People said my philosophy won't stop threads getting "derailed" (something which is a pretty nebulous concept to me anyway). At this I interpreted as saying that my philosophy is not good, so I further explained that if threads go in a given direction it is not ONE user "fault" (barring spamming, which is already against the rules).
