I'm one. The only time I ever pirate something is if it's unreleased (like Star Fox 2).

I bet that if you could get a hold of a higher-up at Nintendo, they'd say they don't care if you download Star Fox 2. If anything, it'll only help their sales if people download that one.

Maybe off the record they'd agree to that, but on record they'd probably say that downloading it is bad.

Exactly, which is why I'm fine with pirating it.

I once downloaded a patch that was given away for free by a company but was no longer on their website. That's technically illegal. I felt very strange about the whole thing.
Since this signature affects old posts, I'm leaving a message here in case anyone searches for my username. This account died in early 2013. I am no longer a fundamentalist.

Don't add to my problems by pretending my past views are still held in the present. I do not have any patience for that. Feel free to ask me what I think now.

It was an old sierra game. Space Quest 1 VGA. They actually don't have those old patches around anymore. Maybe it is odd that I should feel even remotely bad about the downloading it, but I'm a strange person some times.

Call Sierra up on the phone, and tell them what you did. They won't care. Go to the police, and turn yourself in. They'll laugh you right out of the station. I wouldn't waste a second feeling bad about downloading a discontinued patch.
