I didn't get my issue yet, but it seems like a pitiful one.

Did anyone read my post?

I did actually they ranked Zelda number one.

Haven't the year end lists been just thrown together like that for a while Luke? What issue was it in maybe I read it.

Okay, so what's with the "Best games of 2011 'article'"? Some games are just there without any accolades. Is this some Highlights style puzzle where I have to look for games that actually won something? Any clarification on how the titles were picked?
And then, even worse is the console launch "article". No explanation on how they graded a consoles' launch, and I believe the PS2 received a C or a D? What is this article other than another few horribly written pages before more pages of advertisements?
Ugh. I'd gladly pay $5 for my GS card and nothing else than pay $15 for a card and awful promotional material that takes up room in my circular file.
Maybe you should change the title of this thread since it's a little unclear I guess that people are responding to a thread about a list made in 2009

Ugh, half the NES games should be below their SNES counterparts. Why is LttP below the original Zelda? SMW Below SMB? Super Metroid below the original? At least they didn't pull any crap with the FF ratings, what with rating 6 (3) higher than 7.

Game Informer is so terrible.![]()
What do you expect from a "free" magazine?
Also, fail for putting a THPS game in the top 10 at all, and for choosing THPS2 over THPS3. And double fail for Half-Life 2, Civilization IV, and Ocarina of Time not being in the top 10. Triple for choosing Metroid over Super Metroid. If that's the best they can do, they ought to let amateurs do their articles for free instead of paying the current crop of fools.

Re: Game Informer's top 200 games of ALL TIME
I like the scope of the list but I find myself wondering what the criteria for inclusion / placement was. There are a lot of games that just do not make sense.
The original Phantasy Star is on the list but not Phantasy Star II, IV, or Phantasy Star Online? How does that work?
The original Zelda is number one. Good game but better than A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time?
Quality and nostalgia seem to be used interchangeably which makes for a schizophrenic list.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Game Informer's Top Games of 2011 list makes no sense.
