My genesis 2. crystal clear audio mod, cxa2075 region switch

Like the title says this system started out as a 15$ va 1 genesis 2 with the terrible ka video encoder that can't do s-video and horrible sounding audio. I bypassed the original audio circuit and built / installed tiidos amazing crystal clear audio circuit. I also bypassed the ka encoder and installed a cxa1645 video encoder kit giving me both the best video and audio possible out of a genesis. For the finishing touch I installed a region switch to play my japanese imports. Here's some pics and a demo video:

I was just wondering the other day why people didn't just do a mod to bypass the Genesis 2's audio circuitry and replace it with a better one. Guess such a mod does exist!

Great news for people who really like the look and feel of Genesis 2s but want the higher audio/video quality of model 1s.

I added long transistor legs because I've found that most of the time I look up datasheets for transistors they'll have the legs labelled backwards. Sure enough when I first fired up the audio circuit it didn't work. I then found another datasheet for the same transistors with an opposite pinout to the first datasheet I found. I flipped the transistors around and the circuit worked great. After I got it working I shortened all the transistor legs so everything fits nicely.

You can hire me but building all this stuff was expensive and time consuming so unless you want to pay around 400$ you can build one of these yourself.

Do these mods work on all model 2 consoles?

I have more then a few of the shitty model 2s and i can never find a VA4 in my town.

According to tiido (the author of the audio mod) it only works on asic audio based genesis 2s. Probably just the va0 va1 and va1.8
