Kingdom of Amalur

Post by BananaXX »

I recently tried the demo on Steam and I must say I am quite impressed. To me it feels like a love child from loins of Diablo and Oblivion with a dash of WoW-esque graphics; I can't wait till summer time rolls around so I can have ample time to delve into the world. Has anyone else had a chance to play the demo yet?

I've been keeping an eye on this one. I remember reading the dev team has former member(s) from the Morrowind team. That's pretty awesome.

I'll download the demo tonight.

If Darksiders is like KoA, then I might have to check it out.

If your play the demo through Steam s1mple, make sure to disable 'post processing' or else the screen will be completely black and you will only be able to see menu's in-game.

Not a huge fan of Western RPGs, but this one looks pretty cool. Looks like my computer is too wimpy to run it so I'll be checking out a console version. :?

This one actually might be one of the rare cases where the game is better on console. Well I read atleast the ev tea recommends playing with a controller. I suppose you could use a controller on the pc for it...

In the Boston area, we've been occasionally hearing news about this game because the company is owned by former Red Sox pitcher, Curt Schilling. The company was in Maynard, MA but then they just moved to Providence, RI because of tax credits.

Apparently Schilling is a big video games person and has always wanted to make his own game.

Yeah I live in New England so I've been hearing about this too. I know someone at 38 but haven't had a chance to ask him about this game.

I'll probably check out the PS3 version of this once it comes down in price. 8)

Gave the demo a try, but I don't think I'm going to buy it. From a technical aspect it's quite well put together, but it's just not hitting my buttons. I think maybe it's that the combat feels slippery to me; I'm pretty particular about my 3rd person action RPG combat systems.
