Actually, I've been contemplating dropping WWE from my viewing habits completely. It's a big decision because I've watched WWE since the late 80s. But things have gotten so lackluster, so predictable, and frankly silly at times in the WWE. The only thing keeping me hanging on at this point is the return of Jericho and the hope that Wrestlemania and the lead up to it is gonna be good.

But Jericho is disappointing me fast, and I'm a huge Jericho fan. I hope this silent treatment doesn't last for long. So many wrestling fans online are saying it's genius...I wholeheartedly disagree. It's freaking retarded. He's Chris Jericho. He's one of the greatest mic-workers in wrestling history, LET HIM FREAKING TALK! And last week's fake cry was horrid. That must be why he's never tried his hand at acting.

Nope, I get it just fine. He's trying to hold the suspense and make people wonder "WTF?" in order to get interest in him.

i think wrestling is dying , people grew out of it. In the age of ps3, youtube, and Netflix it just doesnt provide the needed entertainment of the 80s .

back then some thiught ut might be real others knew its fake, which adds to the excitement, now the WWE tells you on tv its fake. And so the action is one of the worst, u dont see hard impacts, just fake punches and soft clashing.

It doesnt help that storylines are one of the worst ever and the wrestlers today just dont cut it. Wrestlers like Ziggler and Swagger are no where the quality of Hogan, Savage, Flair, not even midcarders like Owen Hart , Harlem Heat, or Bam Bam Bigelow. Any quality wrestlers left are of the old generation Like Big Show and Kane which wrestled when Hogan was the hottest thing in wrestling.

The only reason wrestling survived is because WWE is about the only wrestling company for 6b humans. Others like ROH and TNA are bound to fail at least financially. History proves it, wrestling federations dont last. The only 1 to survive is WWE.

I agree about wrestling not fitting into this modern era, and they have tried adapting by making it a family friendly show. In the UK however, it's harder to see WWE than it was 10 years ago. Around 2000 when it was massive here, you could catch Heat on Channel 4 (a free channel) and some PPV's too, and Smackdown would be on Sky One (which you got with a basic £10 a month subscription package). Raw was on Sky Sports (a premium package which is £50 a month) as was the PPV's, but now ALL WWE is on Sky Sports and most if not all PPVs are now on Sky Box Office which is £15-a-time to watch. It's not only harder for young teens to watch wrestling (other than TNA) but the product is predictable and tame. There's no surprises, no blood, no HOLY SHIT moments.

Another factor is the rise of UFC. Personally I could never get into it as I don't want to see people actually getting knee'd in the face and genuinely hurt. And there is no back story for the violence, it's just violence in the name of sport.

Then there is the fact we have the Internet now to view episodes instantly, read spoilers and know wrestlers personal lives through that damn thing called Twitter. It's well known that TNA gets the same if not more viewers than WWE in the UK. I'd be interested to know what sort of viewer ratings the US gets.

I watch the PPVs through online streams the next day, and catch Raw every now and then. I can't afford to watch each show on television. But as a wrestling fan I want to keep faith in the product as the WWE is like my other two favourite things, hip hop music and video gaming. All three rose to prominence in the mid-80s (when I was born) and all three are part of my childhood and I still love all three even though they aren't what they used to be.

Not by a long shot. The niche market the WWE has is as faithful as any fanbase. With free shows, PPV's, merchandising, etc., the McMahon's will carry this on for our great great great grandkids at the very least.

Actually, he's mocking the hero's reception wrestlers get when they've been gone a long time, and thus, mocking the fans. He's full blown heel, but doing it very subtly, because he's a genius

Well, it's getting a reaction. People were still popping huge for him tonight, then you heard the boos when he left the ring. He's doing something right. I love this heel character he's playing. I think it's pretty damn funny. He's acting like some spoiled rockstar. It's like he's just out there to be adored by the fans with no intention of giving them anything in return. In fact, I love how him and Daniel Bryan are both heel right now, but still acting like faces and being booked like faces. It's funny to realize that Punk was the only babyface in that six man tag on Raw tonight

Has anyone watched any good wrestling DVDs/Specials lately? I just watched all of these recently on NetFlix. NetFlix has REALLY upped the selection of streaming WWE DVDs.



I just watched the Ric Flair DVD on NetFlix. The selection of WWE DVDs have gone up quite a bit since the last time I had NetFlix. The Ric Flair DVD was a great watch! You learn a lot about his early career in the territorial days, which there isn't a whole lot of footage of that era out there. You also really understand who Ric Flair the man is. You really understand his passion for the business after watching this, and you see a (believe it or not) humble side of Ric. In addition to the great coverage of his career in NWA & WCW, they also touch on both his tours through the WWE and finish it up with his retirement match against HBK and his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. Highly recommended for any Ric Flair fans.



I also watched OMG: The 50 Most Shocking Moments in the WWE DVD on NetFlix. Pretty good trip down memory lane. It was really cool to relive those moments. Stone Cold must have had a blast driving around a cement truck and beer truck and even if it was scripted, deep down he had to have some satisfaction destroying his boss's car and spraying management down with beer. This was a good watch, but one you'll probably watch once and never again, so not worth buying.



Great documentary on one of the greatest wrestling careers. I've always been a big Jericho fan, and this DVD does a fine job of chronicling his career. Watched this on NetFlix instant stream, just like I did the Ric Flair and OMG Most Shocking DVDs.



OMG, this was entertaining as hell. I was lol-ing so much during this DVD. Rowdy Roddy Piper was funny as heck. He was a favorite of mine as a kid, but he was starting to get out of in-ring wrestling as much and was doing the manager and announcer thing then. So I missed a LOT of his best stuff. I'm really glad I watched this. And if I ever see it anywhere for sale, it's gonna be a must-buy for me.

This morning on ESPNSportsCenter, the hosts referring to the Miami Heat's all-black alternative uniforms as their "NWO 4 Life" uniforms while airing highlights of their NBA game against the Los Angeles Lakers. Last year when LeBron joined the Heat, many compared it to when Hulk Hogan turned heel and joined the nWo in 1996.
