What Series Should We Compare

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Wow. Can you imagine the rampant fanboy colors showing if he chose the Final Fantasy series? It could get ugly.

I'd probably be one of them as well. :P

Yeah I hadn't really thought of that... I officially withdraw my FF idea. :D

I liked the Final Fantasy, Megaman (already have heated debate about this one), and Castlevania ideas the best from what i've heard.
I'd suggest Zelda but I suppose that would be pretty one sided for most people. Perhaps Ninja Gaiden, Dragon Warrior, Lunar, Mana series, Donkey Kong (including spinoffs), Tales of series, or Non-Platforming Mario games. Those are a few series I would be interesting in hearing feedback from the community on.

Definitely -- and Megaman would probably be right behind it :)

I never would have thought there to be so much fanboyism behind the MegaMan games...

I think that a Metal Gear comparison would be great as many of the games are inspried off each other with some similiar gameplay elements. I believe that I showed an interest in doing this myself some time ago. I think that screen capture through emulation looks much cleaner than through capture cards and a TV which is what has delayed me from even starting this. I'm not big on emulation.

Proof that this is a bad idea. There's always bound to be crazies who think X5 and X6 are better than X1, X3, or X4.
Agree with Mozgus here. I think MM X 4 was the best, after swinging that Z sabre around it was hard for me to go back to playing as X, and MM X 4 had all the big story reveals and one badass anime cutscene right before Zero's final boss battle. The english version of the game was painful to the ears though, bad, bad, bad voice acting

I think ranking series is a good idea. It's fun to do, and I think most people on this forum can disagree maturely...I hope

Castlevania and the Gauntlet series

I kinda think the FF idea would be good only if you forced people to give the story as to why they picked Final Fantasy # - there could be some interesting stories.
