Fun useless facts: I swam in Ron Paul's public pool a lot as a little kid. I think I peed it in on one occasion in a younger moment of indiscretion and I'm pretty sure I spilled Coke in it at too.

I like Ron Paul if for no other reason than his apparent consistency.

He may very well be crazy, but at least he's consistently crazy.

Seems like most of his supporters are just going by the few things that sound attractive to them and choosing to ignore his crazy shit. But then again that is no different then the majority of voters in this country.

Is that a knock to the voters or the candidates?

The choices suck. I don't agree with all his policies. Hell, maybe most of them.

Short and to the point; I wouldn't elect him as king. I would not want him in office for more than 8 years. Not sure I'd want him for a full 8. But I like thinking what a few years of a president who doesn't buy into the bs would look like.

None of them will be blunt about many of their 'unpopular' views. They just dance around the facts. We've got a president who is clearly for gay rights. Yet he pretends he's 'struggling' with the concept of gay marriage. I also don't buy that he's truly christian, or even as close to it as a president can be. He's atheist as far as I can tell. (I was told I'm biased about that because I'm atheist but I don't see what I have to gain from having the same religious views as a president I'm fairly indifferent to)

I think there are elements to Ron Paul that are in fact "batshit crazy". Not in an absolute "they're terrible ideas and would never ever work" way, but in an "if he managed to push them all through in 4 years, batshit would hit the fan".

And that's sort of what it comes down to for me, the president isn't all powerful, and many of his more out there ideas would never come to pass during his term as president. Some, maybe. But to me, 4 years of a guy who admits to the bs we have in our system, like federal marriage, the war on drugs, and the out of control military spending, would mean we could finally discuss these issues in a meaningful way, and probably make some actual progress.

Just wanted to take a moment to say that I also support Ron Paul in this election. Don't have the time to say much else, but I wanted to add my voice to the others that are pushing for him this cycle.

Alright, I've got an idea for an amendment. How about an amendment that bans slavery? What? Half the states wouldn't ratify it? Well then how do we get rid of it?

Seriously, anyone who supports Ron Paul's platform really, really needs to 1) actually read the damned Constitution, 2) take some courses on US history and Constitutional Law, and 3) actually read what Ron Paul supports now and has supported in the past. As I've said before, Ron Paul is 150 years too late a politician.

Seriously, anyone who supports Ron Paul's platform really, really needs to 1) actually read the damned Constitution, 2) take some courses on US history and Constitutional Law, and 3) actually read what Ron Paul supports now and has supported in the past. As I've said before, Ron Paul is 150 years too late a politician.

Many of us have done these things and know his positions very well. I don't think it is fair to assume that because we support him we are uneducated. I know there are some crazies out there (probably more for Ron Paul than some of the other candidates), but the Ron Paul supporters I know IRL are people I respect very much. That is what first got me to look into him as a candidate.

I think most of the FUD surrounding Ron Paul is just regurgitated from the media or caused by people whose vested interests (financial or emotional) are threatened by his ideas.

It's about time that the shit hit the fan. I'm not sure how anyone making under 100k a year or sitting on a government pension would not be in support of huge changes to the way things are currently operated.
