Swap Magic and PS2 Slim question

I have a slim PS2 (model 79001) and Swap Magic 3.6 Plus. The DVD Swap Magic disc works great. But for some reason the CD disc will never fully load. It boots up and I get the Swap Magic title screen, but then it freezes and never proceeds to the screen that allows me to switch discs.

Does anyone have SM 3.8 that can confirm that the CD (not DVD) disc boots properly on their slim PS2? (And if so, which model # PS2 do you have?) Thanks!

I don't have a Slim but maybe your PS2 might be having problems reading CDs? Do blue CD game discs load okay? Swap Magic discs are more temperamental, requiring a "tight" read eye.

Hopefully someone can chime in that has both and can duplicate the same results. Or at least verify if 3.6 works on the 7901 series. I really suspect it is the read head doing the extra workout in reading the Swap Magic CD. My Fat boots blue CDs just fine, but my 3.3 Swap Magic CD once in a while refuses to load requiring a reset. The same thing occurs with HDAdvance DVDs vs CDs, the DVDs never fail to boot. There are a lot of extra tracks on the non Sony discs.

I have hdadvance 2.1 and indeed the dvd never fails to load, but the cd probably loads like 70% of the time. For the other 30% I just have to restart my fat ps2. cd based game load fine though. Weird. Sorry I don´t have a pstwo to test with.
