I figured as much but it's still neat. Luckily I don't have a game gear anymore so I'm not tempted to waste my money on one. haha

these guys are usless now in our post analog signal US. Digital signals have made this product moot.

Unless you live on the border, close to mexico, where there's still analog signals, there's no need to get one now.

I've never owned one, but I did have some buddies that had one.

The screen simulates somewhat like a real tv. The brightness of the gamegear affected the way you could watch this.

Like with many bunny ear antennas, if you had a weak signal, you woud get snow. Which with the bright screen would also affect viewability.

If you find one now, it's just a sega collectible.

The Turbo Express tuner also allowed for A/V input with the correct cable. Still useless for watching OTA television. Did the GG or others have that capability?

TV cable still supports analog as well as a digital conversion box. I wonder if there is a way to receive with some sort of direct connection to the TV Game gear TV tuner. Kinda defeats the portable aspect but interesting to try.

I saw one not long ago in a pawn shop. It was in its box as well, but said 'not working' on it. I don't have a game gear and it was too pricey all things considered.

We still get analogue signal here in Australia. I only just switched over to digital, but its with a standard def box so I only get about half the channels, and the reception sucks, plus it tells me different shows are playing down the bottom of the screen. I don't really watch TV but the New Zealand traffic cop reality show is good for a laugh. I also dont know why we get so much New Zealand reality TV.

I'm done now.

It's sad how many mini radio/TV combo units I see at thrift stores these days, good for nothing but use as an awkward radio.
