I contacted my people.
The best take on this I have read came from the pirate bay of all places:

What he says about Edison is true and a mostly forgotten piece of American history. Edison hired Pinkerton men to go to Jacksonville and shoot at the guys making movies. So they moved the movie industry from Jacksonville to Hollywood. The MPAA is just upset that are being beaten at their own game.

When the year started and I thought that the first time I contacted my Congressman the SOPA bill was squashed, I decided to use that and the Mayan doomsday prediction as the butt of a three part comic strip.
This week was the finale and it's all about the stupidity of SOPA and PIPA: http://www.spacebooger.com/spacebooger- ... omicID=235

Here's proof of the world's ignorance on the subject:

Let's certainly hope these people take a few minutes of their time to educate themselves on the issue and understand what's going on.

Can we launch all of those people into the sun, even if they were posting 'ironically'? I think that would solve quite a bit of overpopulation and unemployment problems. I'd say if they went to Wiki and then tweeted the first diarrhea that came to mind, they didn't take the time to even read the screen at Wiki.Xeogred wrote:Here's proof of the world's ignorance on the subject:

Let alone people not understanding the Google thing, there's a link what, one inch below the search bar explaining it? Holy hell.Hobie-wan wrote:Can we launch all of those people into the sun, even if they were posting 'ironically'? I think that would solve quite a bit of overpopulation and unemployment problems. And yeah, both parties... the ignorant, and the people who might be trying to be funny and ironic here just ... wow. Speechless. They aren't helping.

If you look at most of those users names and avatars they look to be spambots. Twitter spambots always blurt out random tourette like stuff.Xeogred wrote:Here's proof of the world's ignorance on the subject:

I'm glad the bill has been suspended for now. I contacted my rep yesterday to show my displeasure of this bill. That bill was f*cking crap and they know it, hence why all the supporters of the bill are now cowering down. If SOPA had passed in its current though, life would be a lot different. Just imagine life without a internet what would we do? To the left, life without internet. To the right, life with internet.

Pretty good video in layman terms to share with people that don't understand the problem.

I'm not letting this comment slip through the cracks. Have you ever actually given five seconds of thought as to what abolishing IP would do? It sure as hell wouldn't be a good thing.Pulsar_t wrote:Time for IP to die the fiery death that it deserves. Unfortunately the internet has failed to topple the copyright moguls.
