Super Smartjoy PAL Problems

Post by andymol21 »

I just recieved in the mail today a used SNES controller to use with my new Super Smartjoy USB to SNES converter. Plugged it all in, the Super Smartjoy was found but when I press on any of the buttons on the SNES pad nothing is registered by the computer. Has anyone had any experience with a PAL SNES controller and the Super Smartjoy. I think that it is the pad which is at fault as shorting out the contacts on the Smartjoy registers all of the buttons being pressed. If anyone has any ideas then please speak up. I don't have a real SNES to test the controller on so I don't know if that is broken. Is there any way to test to see if a SNES pad is not regiristing button presses?

SNES/Sufami controllers are all the same. Did you first connect the controller to the smartjoy and then the USB to the PC? That sometimes makes a difference depending on the USB device and game controllers.

Yeah I've tried all combinations of connection. Just seems to be dead. I emailed the seller and he said it was working on a SNES when he sent it. Has anyone tried a PAL SNES controller on the Super Smartjoy? All the adverts says it works, but mine doesn't!

Another thing to check is the emulator. Does it support USB? If you're not sure try using a keyboard to USB program like Joy2Key. I know that NeoRageX doesn't (or didn't, it's been a while since I've used it) support USB so check that out before sending it back~
