Can someone explain to me how can Hulu be so impervious to proxy changes and so on?

Non-US residents have a workaround for pretty much every website, except Hulu. What gives?

Probably to prevent pirating, as companies really hate people copying and burning materials that are currently free for certain nations (translate Japanese is NO easy task!). For an anime fan and Persona fan, I think this is great that Hulu is doing it.
