Erase Game Saves - NDS

I jut bought a used copy of Final Fantasy III for my DS and I want to clear the memory... I cant figure it out... any suggestions?

Problem: Can't erase the save file
Solution: To erase your save file and start the game over, follow these steps: While the game is loading (before the title screen), press and hold A, B, X, Y, L, and R simultaneously. Please note that all progress you've made in the game (including all of your Nintendogs and items) will be erased.

works for nintendogs

To erase ALL data - Switch DS on, from DS menu hold Left trigger, Right on D-pad and Select then start game from touch screen.

hold L, R, and Start as you turn on the system and select the game.
