Oh jeeez! I didn't even think about lavish hiking gear purchases. Granted I put loads of miles on the trail, so it's a healthy investment. I have friends that work at Patagonia and hit up the annual REI garage sales, so I make out pretty good with discounts, lightly used returns and "factory seconds."

I'm really not entirely sure. Seems like shoes that become associated with famous athletes and competitions become highly sought after. It seems as if my shoes were the "official" distance spikes of the Atlanta games or something. There's actually a surprisingly large track spike collecting community out there, as odd as that sounds. Track spikes tend to be very pretty and artistic looking shoes, I think that's part of the appeal as well.

And this isn't unique to track, of course. As AznKhmerBoi said, old Air Jordans are worth some serious cash.

Hmm, yeah. I remember reading in some magazine that there was a guy who collects every sneaker made by some company.

I figured that might be like some kind of hoarding disorder, but I guess to some extent he isn't too different from people who collect retro games...

Some shoes (black, for work), 9.5W w/ Velcro (low-maintenance): about $30-35

Zombie vs Shark hoodie from Fright Rags: under $40

Have my eyes on a pair of knee-high leather Tuk boots (~$100), for JTHM cosplay and possibly most concerts and events.

I was kidding about socks sorry I wasn't thinking you'd redo the poll :|

I am the one that voted underwear. It was a present sort of. My brothers bachelor party from a stripper to him. It involved a strippers excrement and well it was the funniest present ever.

Same. Most I ever spent was 250 plus tax. It was a special occasion.

If jewelry counts (I mean, you do wear it) it would be my wife's engagement ring by far. Other than that, my suits and sport coats for certain.
