Hah, I completely gave up on that one.
WHen did you give up?

Haha oh man, I remember most of this. I admittedly pirated both the original and Gold, so there is that LITTLE detail and maybe it'd still be possible to play someday (I got System Shock 2 and Thief 2 working just fine, same engine I believe), but yeah Thief always crashed after a few minutes. I remember patching, trying compatibility modes, the core fix, modifying config files, DDFix, etc...

I'll bookmark this though. I've been constantly tempted to just play Thief 2 instead for now, but some people tell me no. Now that I have money maybe I can order it sometime... and watch a legit copy will probably work just fine.

Have you or anyone else played Thief 3 though? I bought it off Steam a long time ago, after replaying Invisible War last year I'm pretty worried knowing it uses the same engine. Are there loading screens every 5 minutes? What an awful engine, lol.

Smile: Started a new relationship with a beautiful lady today :) Best part is, when she came over mine today she brought her N64 and we had a good long session of Mario Kart and Goldeneye.

Ticked: Gotta go to another store from work training tomorrow. Got to catch two buses and a train to get there :?

Not a ticked, just a real sad one. One of my girlfriends oldest horses died yesterday. The horse was 28 and had been hers for 20 something years. She use to ride her in competition - Dressage and Jumping.

Smiled - New VP said that the way we are doing things is the stupidest way he has ever seen. So there is a good chance I might get a real cube again in the near future. Regardless, I am not staying with the company in this capacity passed midyear, unless the new VP can get me a transfer to his old office in Nashville. The good ole boys club that was running this market is now being fired off and it is actually becoming a good job again.

I fear the death of my wife's horse like you wouldn't believe (or, given your girlfriend's history, maybe you would). Similar story: the horse is now 30, my wife has had it since she was like 12 (she used to do barrel racing and Western saddle riding), and the inevitable is sure to happen at some point. On the plus side, the horse is quite healthy (the vet says she's a marvel), so I should have more time yet. I have come to love the horse too over the past 12 years or so since I met it, and it will be a sad day for me...but a tragedy of epic proportions for my wife.

But hey, at least I won't have to buy dog food, glue, or Jell-O for the foreseeable future afterwards! (I make that joke here because I would lose my own life if I made it at home)

Dont count on it, JC was given a bill of good health right before Christmas. She just laid down on Sunday midday and could not get back up, that was the end of her. She ended up getting pneumonia Sunday night. Their horse doctor, who they have used for 40 something years, said sometimes it just happens this way. I highly suggest making preparations for your wife now, just incase. I always try to prepare for the worse, but this was beyond what I expected.

Smiled - Rumor is the new VP told the sales managers we are going back to the way things were very soon, as soon as Monday. So Ill get to manage my day better very soon, but it also means spending more money on gas and a different type of stress. But it is a small price to pay for piece of mind.

Bigger Smile - My current boss just told the other supervisor that she is going to take a job with the company. This is causing my sycophantic coworker to all of the sudden be everyones "bestfriend." Its fun watching her squirm now that her defense is gone

Smile: So much support against SOPA on the Internets. Even though it sucks not to have Wikipedia to look up today, a major website would be just what they needed.

Ticked: BACKLOGGERY IS IN ON IT TOO?!

That's gonna make my sig look like absolute crap for the next 24 hours -- and a lot of others
