TBS is also a culprit of awesome censorship. Pretty sure they dubbed the Mallrats dialogue.

Off topic, I haven't had a Starburst candy in years and just had a chunk of orange flavored corn syrup awesomeness. Also off topic, the Starburst made me wonder whatever happened to MTV's "Rock and Jock" series. Surely there is a market that wants to see Dan Cortez and Justin Beiber shoot hoops. And what about Duff? She was totally hot.

As far as the movie goes? I didn't particularly care for it. Katie Holmes looked just awful, like she was terminally ill w/ some sort of disease? I don't mean that in a cruel way, you would just have to see it to understand what I'm talking about. The creatures looked like the result of what you would get if you crossbred Gollum from Lord of the Rings w/ Nosferatu. When they ran around they kind of resembled spiders or some sort of insect. It had potential in the beginning but it fell flat after about 30 minutes. I think if they would have dragged out the revealing of the creatures and what they were about then it might have worked better. I just feel with certain types of horror/thriller flicks you need to drag it out longer to keep the suspense going and that was just especially the case here. I would say wait for it on Instant Q on Netflix, don't waste a redbox rental or even dvd by mail w/ Netflix, to see what you think if you're interested.

Personally I would like to check out the original version from the 70s for a comparison. I think you can watch it on youtube in parts (which I LOATHE) so I may do that one day.

Oh man, Hausu is incredible! It's almost like a trippy, more colorful, Asian version of Evil Dead II, except at least 30x crazier. I think my favorite parts of the film are when the effects just look "wrong", i.e. the floating torsos and limbs scene or 'the piano death'. There really isn't much else like it.

Exactly. The whole thing is wonderfully nuts and thus really hard to try to explain to people. Part of the reason why I added the trailer. Some things you just have to see for yourself.
