SEGA Saturn Photo CD
Does someone knows how to make Photo CD (that will play with either Sega Saturn Photo CD Operating System or the latest Video cd carts) for Saturn? I tried everything, but it didn't work.
Re: SEGA Saturn Photo CD
After doing a little searching, I found a program called ImageMagick, which can create PhotoCD images.
From what I can tell, "Photo CD" is its own format distinct from modern "Picture CDs" or currently used image formats like .jpeg or .gif.
So you'll have to find a way to get your images into Photo CD format and I assume it's then just a matter of putting them on a disc.

A little off topic, but I remember the Photo CD well. My dad bought a Kodak Photo CD player back in 1992:

We were amazed by it, the ability to view photos on your TV with a CD?! He then got a Phillips CD-i which played Photo CDs, so he sold the old Kodak player to a friend. Good times with old hardware...
He still has the CD-i, with a huge assortment of games and accessories. Said I could have it once I have the room for it.

The Sega CD could play CD+G, which I've always wanted to try but have never found a CD+G that wasn't just for karaoke...

Re: SEGA Saturn Photo CD
The Most easiest part was the converting my photos from JPG to PCD. I did it with software called Graphics Workshop Pro.
From this website http://tedfelix.com/PhotoCD/PCDMakeYourOwn.html i learn about two ways to make Photo CD format disk.
1) With KodakPCD - for some reason this make only cds that work on Kodak Photo CD Player
2) With PCD Create - This will make photo cds that will play on CDi оr PC (but not on Kodak Photo CD Player)
Neither from above works with saturn.
There is some other way with official software from Kodak (Kodak's Build-It) impossible to find this days.
With first option, the VCD cart recognize the format... software starts... but didn't like the disk for some reason. Second option leads to screen with unrecognizeble format.
I have one karaoke cd (maybe this is CD+G?). It plays fine on saturn without anything. I didn't know there is CD+G not for karaoke.
I give up hope for making my own photo cds. I'll be glad if someone tells me where to find ready for burning image files, just for testing.

Re: SEGA Saturn Photo CD
Back when I used to shoot on film I had Photo CDs made from the developer. At the time it was really cool. The only PhotoCD machine I could play them on was the original-model 3DO which did a great job at displaying them. I have the MPEG card for the Saturn and it will play PhotoCDs as well, but it's not as cool or as good as viewing them on the 3DO. This is probably one of the few if not the only area in which the 3DO exceeds the Saturn.
