hehehe hammer.

Hey guy.

The 32x needs lots of stuff.

an extra electric plug and special video cable.

Some say the genesis needs the metal thingamabob in the cartrige slot to keep the 32x stable.

I'm sure that someone here will post a link to a thread here about it.

your problem is not a new thing.

If you have all the proper cords and have it hooked up correctly already, there is also a common issue with the internal white ribbon cables losing proper contact. Google and find one of the tutorials about unplugging, cleaning, and replugging those ribbon cables. Maybe that's your issue.

Eh, not totally necessary. I highly doubt that has anything to do with it.

I know when I first got my 32x I was frustrated with it because it didn't "work" and then I realized I forgot to plug in the power cable for the 32x itself.
So I would say, if you haven't already, just make sure you have all the cords going to and from where they need to go. If that doesn't work, then try what Hobie said.

Well 32x is incompatible or impractical to attach on certain consoles for several differing reasons.

Genesis 3: System needs cart slot connections restored.
Laseractive and Wondermega 1: System needs RGB video output restored. (32x internally requires that for operation.)
Nomad: Size problems. It'd be an ergonomic travesty even if modified to run.
CDX: Complete functionality, but unreliable, Its shape creates too much wobbling. Sega never released the spacer.

I think I've also heard some models have a glitch and can't use 32x unless the Sega CD expansion port is occupied...

How is it unreliable? I haven't ever had a problem, an use it frequently on a CDX...
