Considering what resellers sell that for I would say finding for $8 is pretty good. I thought when the Finds of Year thread was made we got rid of these kind of negative comments?

It isn't a negative comment - its an attempt to find out what exactly was $8.

Simply posting a pic and saying "$8" doesn't do anything for anyone. If its the snes mini, good find. If its the cart, meh, ok. Either way, if you're going to take the time to snap a pic and make a post, at a minimum tell us what it is / where you got it, etc.

And as stated before, the finds of the day "should" still have something interesting to it, a back story, a great price, unique, etc. Otherwise it ruins the thread for the actual interesting posts. If everyone one of us posted every single thing we bought - just put a price out there, no story, nothing interesting, what is the point - seriously?

Finds of the year won't get posts everyday, or every week for that matter.

I like this thread a lot, I check it everyday - which is why I fought to keep it as it was, but now that it has more a free reign, it is getting sillier and sillier with the stuff people will put in here.

I'm gonna go start a thread, "Bills I paid this month". (<that isn't negative either, sarcastic, yes, negative, no.)

Truthfully some of these shitty comments are driving me away from this site faster and faster. Using less and less, and have not bought anything here in a long time either. I like all of the post in this thread and have had enough of the thread shitting by people who think they are some elite collector who can pass judgement on other peoples posts.

CRTGamer, keep it up man. I don't care if you post a pic of your shit and call it a find of the day. You contribute more to this site than any of the Admins or moderators. It is a shame you are not one. You have even answered my random PMs about laserdisc and such. I am just happy to see that these individuals have not driven you off.

To all of the whiners and complainers: If you don't like something, scroll past stupid and just don't read it. Save your shitty comments for your personal life. As far as I am concerned your negative comments are not welcome here and yes, I will be scrolling on past it for now on!

^Just to be clear, I really was just wondering if it was the system or game because there was no clarification. Not shitting on anyone. haha

I don't know that i've ever seen a post of yours, wclem, and thought it was a rushed or thoughtless post, until now. It's unfortunate, because you are pleasant and friendly.

Many of us, including myself have encouraged and enjoyed CRT's posts, especially in this thread.

That isn't the subject of the scrutiny your responding to today. It was scrutiny of a rushed post w/zero information but plenty of confusion.

I think the great many of us "do scroll past" 9 times out of 10. Occasionally a comment to attempt at cleaning things up (from our perspective) is warranted. This forum is all of ours and we should not have to shy away from constructive criticism OR spirited debate at risk of upsetting anyone else. If you don't wish to reply or if you prefer to "scroll past stupid", that is on you. We don't need parenting, it's sad you felt obligated to do so in the manner you did today. I think your post last post was probably the whiniest of the them all. Read it again, after climbing down from the pedestal though.

I'm not saying they have but...

If it reaches a point that a fair number of people think that there are a lot of stupid posts (on the whole site) that they feel the need to skip and scroll past, then we've turned into a craphole like the Gamefaqs forums or wherever. I'd prefer that didn't happen. Just turning a blind eye to too many 'not so good' posts of all kinds starts a slippery slope.

Yes we're never going to agree on what a 'find' is, but when so many recent posts start out with "Meh, not a great deal but...", those seem more suited to one's collection thread in the Game Rooms & Home Theater section or a blog IMHO.

It was the game. How is that not obvious??

Either you can't infer from a simple picture or you were just belittling the post from the get go.

It wasn't obvious to me...or some others. What a mean-spirited comment.

I got a guide for Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 on Amazon last week for the insanely low price of $8 shipped. Since then, the price has jumped back to normal at over $50 (if you think that's absurd, consider that the guide for the original DQM goes for around $200), so I'm glad I checked when I did. I've been looking for this guide for a loooooonnnnggg time, because it was a game I was never able to beat as a kid due to its obtuse nature. Now I can finally finish it and put those nagging feelings to rest. :) Now I just need to get a guide for Tales of Vesperia, and my rare guide hunt list will be done... for now.
