These write ups have been great Michi. This movie is especially up my alley.

Aurora
Recently released on DVD, this Romanian insight into the mind of a (fictional) killer is very well worth the recommendation. Again, not for those who suffer ADHD.

Set your Tivo for Drew Peterson:Untouchable, January 29th.
This is by far my favorite trailer of the year, and it looks Lifetime Movies is taking a giant leap in awesomeness. Bitch.

Heh, I saw this was on Friday night and I wondered if you'd review it. I only saw about ten minutes because I wasn't quite in the mood, but it looked absolutely crazy. The Castro Theater in San Francisco played this about a year ago, but I missed it. Too bad. I'm sure it would be awesome with a raucous audience.Michi wrote:House

Warhorse.
Not as sad as I hoped. That may sound weird but films like Green Mile and Grave of the Fireflies are two of my favourites because they are emotionally draining. There were some uncomfortable scenes and I was surprised it was only a 12A but overall it was definitely worth a watch. Especially if you enjoy animal bonding films like Fluke and Old Yeller.

I saw it and was wondering why it was rated PG-13 instead of PGRazzmatazz wrote:Warhorse....

Chasing Amy - Easily Kevin Smith's masterpiece, if you ask me. Very funny, very 90's, and very heartfelt.
Jersey Girl - My first time watching this, and boy it's just as bad as everyone said it was. I really tried liking this, I really did, but once I saw the Ben Affleck motivational speaking montage... I knew all hope was gone.
Starship Troopers -Just as awesome as ever. I don't think Paul Verhoeven gets nearly enough credit as a filmmaker. Between this, Robocop 1, and Total Recall, his films are consistently witty, wild, satirical, action-packed and full of outstanding special effects.

Oh man, Hausu is incredible! It's almost like a trippy, more colorful, Asian version of Evil Dead II, except at least 30x crazier. I think my favorite parts of the film are when the effects just look "wrong", i.e. the floating torsos and limbs scene or 'the piano death'. There really isn't much else like it.Michi wrote:House

I didn't ask, but you are certainly entitled to your opinion. I love Chasing Amy, but never thought of it as Kevin's masterpiece; more of a "see I can do this too" type of piece. That said, great movie!Nintendork666 wrote:Chasing Amy - Easily Kevin Smith's masterpiece, if you ask me.
I guess it can be said that AMY does a lot of good at what Smith does best, dialogue, but it's not even Kevin's best dialogue. I'm being harsh, but I like Smith films at their goofiest.
Not a "movie" but I've been watching a ton of MONK lately. Silly, funny, smart, and a joy to watch so far.

Clerks, possibly Mallrats. Both are exactly like working in a convenience store or mall. And the latter teaches us that Ben Affleck is the bad guy in life. Just liek how Walle taught us to not trust Fred Willard.noiseredux wrote:I think Chasing Amy is Smith's best film.Luke wrote:I didn't ask, but you are certainly entitled to your opinion. I watched the Neverending Story last weekend. As creepy as they are, I enjoy both of the Neverending Story films and think the plots are brilliant. The mechanic of a device that grants wishes and takes away memories is just great. Watching it confirmed my belief that if someone could get a set of people from the various parts of the geek fandom, you could make a feature film in the same style for very little.
