I get what you're saying, but when you consider how many people don't take games seriously for many of the reasons present in Shadows of the Damned...well, it doesn't really help the situation. It's like the whole, "it's not meant to be taking seriously" argument becomes an excuse to just put something out there that simply reinforces negative stereotypes. When all is said and done, it's still just a game that a bunch of gamers will rave about while saying things like, "then I blew them all away with my Johnson" and then laugh hystericallynoiseredux wrote:if it was meant to be taken seriously, I suppose I'd agree with you.Gamerforlife wrote: Yeah, I agree after playing Shadows of the Damned, which I would be embarrassd to play in front of a woman or any adult quite frankly. Shadows of the Damned kind of reinforces every negative stereotype a person could have about gamers.
Shadows of the Damned is just a game that doesn't need to exist
and to me, and it's just my opinion, a game with a light-hearted approach like the one in Shadows of the Damned still doesn't need to be so misogynistic towards its one main female character and then be so flippant about it. It's like the kill Kenny gag in South Park, but much more disturbing. That kind of was the last straw for me, and maybe I could have tolerated a little bit of juvenile humor. I can tolerate some of that in my entertainment, but in Shadows of the Damned there's just SO MUCH OF IT. It gets irritating after awhile
It's like when I am watching Dr Who and that annoying River Song character has to have every other line out of her mouth be a sexual innuendo. It's like, yeah, okay, I get it, you like sex. Jeez, find a new theme already!
