Yes but I'm sure after about 10 years Sega realized all the mistakes they made during their reign. Hopefully when they come back they don't make these mistakes again.nick944 wrote:Nope. Sega lost too much money on previous systems. They probably would have to put a lot into a new console too, and money they don't have anymore. The videogame market doesn't need a 4th system out there anyways, people will most likely remember SEGA's failures from the past and not buy. That and sonic has died, which has always been a big part of Sega systems.
Will Sega ever come back?
I think the biggest problem is that Sega isn't the same company they used to be. They are now owned by Sammy, and you'll notice the only hardware developed under Sammy's watch was the AtomisWave, a beefed-up Naomi (arcade Dreamcast hardware) system. Most of their better known developers have left to found, or join, smaller studios. This is likely due to Sammy's management style and attitudes. Sammy is also likely responsible for the decline in quality software coming out of Sega.
Sega isn't Sega anymore. It's Sammy with all of Sega's IP and legacy. Sammy came to financial health most recently as a result of pachinko. There is no way a company dependent upon pachinko is going to manage to appropriately handle Sega's massive and valuable IP.
Sega will return to hardware only when Sammy's management is turned over and replaced with people who want to see the old Sega return to prominence.

What about Sega Lindbergh? The merger happened on October 1st, 2004, and the Lindbergh was announced on September 1st, 2005. Since the merger, Sega has had Virtua Fighter 5, Sega Rally Revo, Afterburner Climax, House of the Dead 4...marurun wrote:I think the biggest problem is that Sega isn't the same company they used to be. Virtua Tennis 3, Virtua Fighter 5, Outrun 2, Afterburner Climax, Sega Superstars Tennis, Sega Rally, Sega Rally 3(soon), Yakuza, somewhat okay Sonic titles, NiGHTS for Wii, Samba de Amigo Wii, House of the Dead 2&3 Return, Sega Bass Fishing, Ghost Squad, etc.D.D.D. wrote:What has SEGA made recently that was actually must-have quality? I'm curious to hear some opinions on that...
Also note that SEGA will make it in the top 5 third party publishers very soon and is already the top Japanese third party publisher.
I just want to know when SEGA is going to start making so decent Shining games again. What happend to all the unique and creative stuff SEGA used to do? Now it's all sports and remakes of old stuff. I love SEGA, but I just don't think they will comback in a way thats impressive to me. But it's good to know they are still trying.

I havent seen a Sega Sports title in years. Sure its a pretty old formula but Full Auto is awesome and has just enough new to keep you coming back.ott0bot wrote:I just want to know when SEGA is going to start making so decent Shining games again. Football Manager? (yes, not a 2K game but it's still a Sega Sports title in the most literal way possible)RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I havent seen a Sega Sports title in years.
