First of all, the guys who dared bash FF VI, start running, you have till I finish this post.

I liked FF XIII too, but with all the great JRPGs I'm playing these months (still trying to finish Xenoblade, fucking massive thing.....and then there's The Last Story coming out the next month) I don't see me having time for a sequel to a fun, yet uninspired JRPG, which doesn't add anything new to the genre.

I am afraid the FF brand has been greatly damaged this gen :(. Hope it recovers both in marketing, but most of all, quality terms.

I wasn't bashing on it. I was just saying FFXIII was better.

It was a joke dude. Everyone can have their own opinion. But just so you know, I don't consider FF6 my favorite FF cause of nostalgia (nostalgia helps FF8 stay high on my list, even though I know it's flawed badly), I have legitimate reasons to love it more than all other FF games. I liked 13, more than other entries in the series which fans tend to forgive (aka it's fashionable to love them, as it's fashionable to hate FF13), but I still think it was a letdown.

Such a lengthy development time, new console gen and it tried nothing new for the series...

It needs to stay dead. FF has been complete and utter shit for years. Square hasn't internally developed a quality game since 2000, and prove that they are completely incompetent on a regular basis. It's mind boggling to me that they haven't gone bankrupt yet given the quality of their games, but I guess the FF brand just sells too amazingly well (also mind boggling), and they just have too many successful subsidiaries.

I'm not influenced by it, either. The game's a little older than I am, and I didn't pick it up until over the summer.

Then they should just give the FF series to level 5

I think 12 was on the right track (yeah I know people really hate it) but it made some grave mistakes which cost it more than they should have (stupid pointless protagonist for one thing).

And I have to agree the last FF game I really loved was 9 (which came out in 2000).

But they made Kingdom Hearts. That was good right?

And The World Ends With You. It's easily the best DS game in existence. Yes haters, it's even better than this.

um...I'm pretty sure TWEWY wasn't developed my Square's internal studio.

The gameplay is solid, but overall I'm not fond of it. First game felt like a big cash in really, second game even more.

Also nearly every single entry into the series was co-developed with h.a.n.d. and/or Jupiter. Also, the KH games are plagued by Nomura character design. (Coincidentally, all of this applies to the TWEWY)
