Huh. Well, I do know NoA's anti-alcohol, anti-tobacco, anti-racey, anti-gore stance (see: Maniac Mansion on the NES), but I thought they kept all the audio intact. And wow, they did away with the parody stuff too. (I could have sworn the Runaway 5 used the blue palette.) Then again, I thought both versions had "Tollopa" Theater.

My mistake. I had never checked myself, but a video review I recently watched claimed that it was.

However, the game was re-released on GBA, which would entail just as much legal scrutiny, if not more, than a VC release.

As a side note, I just sold my CIB Earthbound for $700. I paid $360 about six months ago. I will feel really stupid when the price breaks $1000 by the end of this year.

*edit* Haha, I just looked at some of the "offers" that people sent me on Ebay, which were automatically declined. Someone offered $150. Another offered $450 with a comment berating my asking price. Another guy offered $550 claiming "this is the highest I can go", but then he later privately sent me an offer for $650.

Where did you sell it at for that much? No CIB Earthbound on ebay has sold for that much going back all the way to Dec. 28th. That is way to much for that even complete. People are getting good CIB copies for under $500 on Ebay constantly. I feel bad for the person you sold it to.

Where did you sell it at for that much? No CIB Earthbound on ebay has sold for that much going back all the way to Dec. 28th. That is way to much for that even complete. People are getting good CIB copies for under $500 on Ebay constantly. I feel bad for the person you sold it to.

A copy went for $730 on Ebay last fall. Before I bought mine, a copy in condition slightly better than mine went for $630.

There were literally zero CIB copies during the period I had mine listed. It's the only reason I listed mine with such a high price. I think I sold for too little.

I believe those numbers. Last year on GameFAQs, I saw posters asking about "CIB" Earthbound (because they were never "sealed" due to being in a cardboard box with the guide and what else) for $500 -- and other posters citing that the era of $500 CIB was long gone.
