Anybody Into Collecting Knives?

Post by casterofdreams »

I just started back in 2008 collecting knives. The thing is I have a very strong brand loyalty to one thing, Blackhawk! Blades. One knife turned into two and three and now I have close to most of what they currently have to offer, from fixed blades to folding and a couple of self defense and utility knives. Cool stuff.

Does anyone else collect knives of some sort? Swords even? Or even some fantasy stuff too?

(On a side note, I also started to collect Atlus related art books too but we shall leave that for another day. Who knows where that will take me...)

I've got some nunchaku, for actual martial arts purposes. Not into collecting when the most convenient weapon is my own left foot.

Everyone should buy these:

(actually there is no relation, it's not my company and I don't get a commission, I just find it funny).

I've probably owned around 150 knives total since I started collecting when I was 16. Over the years though, I've sold off or given away most of them, and have around 20 or so that I actually use. I still feel like that is too many though, and will probably thin out the collection even more.

I've actually been contemplating making my own knives. It's just a matter of being able to afford the equipment. Until then, I guess I'll have to make do sharpening knives for people.

Funny, all the knives I've owned, and I have yet to own a good kitchen knife.
