It's cool. They're just generic price tags that come off easily, no GameStop or VOID rental stickers. I used to compulsively remove them as soon as I got them, but now I try to leave them on for the "Pics or It Didn't Happen" crowd.

Got a Gameboy Advance SP AGS-101 "Graphite" with AC adapter for $8. Only some mild scratches from use on the lid. Also got all three GTA games for the X-Box for $3 each.

There are a few in Nevada, California and Wyoming as well. I can't speak to their quality though. The store in the smaller Utah towns usually yield better results as well. These stores are huge and donating items is basically the same as donating money to the church to most mormons which given the vast Mormon population here equate to a lot of good quality items.

They typically have a lot of good quality non-game related things too. Particularly clothing (I have a few $300 suits I bought for $8), electronics, foreign souvenirs, books, DVDs and BluRays, art and furniture. Besides 80% of my game collection, pretty much my entire house is furnished with stuff from that store.

All this time I envied your purchases, never thought of looking up Desert Industries Thrift stores for a local outlet. There is one nearby buried in the back of a warehouse store, all these years how could I have missed it?!! An indicator of a huge franchise, they have their own labeled plastic bags and Desert Industry labeled price tags. The price stickers are very easy to remove, I also leave price tags on for the photo shoot. The store has no refunds but phenomenal deals such as $6.00 CRT monitors can be found. There are multiple wall jacks all over the electronics area to test electrical items before a purchase.

I am discovering 3 stages of Thrift Stores

1. Donation stores such as Goodwill and Salvation Army. Broken items are more common, but some good deals can be found.

2. Storage Reclaim and Estate Sales Independent Thrift stores. Items are usually of good to excellent condition, usually working.

3. Mormon Thrift stores. FiftyDollarCurse's point of Mormons donating goods instead of money. A good chance of quality products.

Everything posted here except the Gamecube were bought at Desert Industries.

Apple USB Keyboard - $3.00
Definitely cheaper then the Apple store, better then the current Apple "Laptop" style keyboards. I have the older black Pro Board, the key layout on this is an identical size. Oh crap, some keys do not work, I know the cable is sound since most of the keys work including the USB ports. Maybe spilled soda inside, a dishonest Mormon donator? I'll take it apart and post a Guide. One thing I like about the Mac keyboard is the built in two extra USB ports. Even my iMac CRT older keyboard has the extra ports, perfect for a mem stick or a blue tooth chip.

Microsoft USB Optical Mouse - $2.00
MS mice tend to have a quicker response in movement. Even the older MS Ball mouse moves the arrow across the screen faster. Setting the tracking speed all the way up, the arrow jumps across the page with just a small twitch of the wrist.

PS2 Tetris Worlds - $2.00
A blue CD game, space saving for an install in my PS2 Hard drive. Note the Desert Industries price tag, easy to remove. All the PS2 and XBox games are priced at two bucks. Most are Sports games, sometimes can get lucky. I'll have to keep an eye on this shelf.

Gravis Eliminator Gamepad Pro 44031 - $5.00
The Gamepad has a nice roll to it, I think there are Analog potentiometers inside. Ten buttons including four triggers. The Precision button is used to switch from Digital to Analog. For a "Joystick" gamepad, JR Pacman in Mame works great and hits every corner just fine.

Bionaire® Star Elite Vacuum VC97201 - $12.00
Okay not a game, but wanted to show what kind of deals one can find at a Thrift store. Normally I would not buy something with a possibly worn out motor, but since the Mormon Thrift store has a good reputation of quality donated goods, picked this up. Nice bagless vacuum with an easy to empty canister, similar in design to a Dyson, powerful and very quiet. Even the attachment has a built in roller brush, sucks up all the hair from my shedding Pug dog.




Gamecube Digital Port Model - $14.95
Bought at a "Storage Reclaim" Thrift store. No controller, but came with power supply and all the bottom covers. A backup console that works great and supports Component output.

I have wanted the Honeybee controllers for a while, I honestly think they are better than the Sega branded ones.

SH3 is the full version, just a promo copy that was sent out to reviewers, there is meant to be roughly 500 of every game (Or so I read on the SH forums).

A friend dropped by a pawn shop today and picked up a loose PS-One with PSU for $4.99. He showed it to me tonight and I looked on the bottom and noticed the warranty seal was gone. I said to him, "hey, someone has opened this thing up. I wonder if it'd modded." He plugged it in and booted up one of his JP games. Success! Then tried a burnt game. Success!

Always nice to find a modded PS-One console for $5.

Paid $75 at a local retro store which is the first time I've seen one of these in person and I just love the look of it. Here is a pic of my Sega Family Portrait (Yeah I know I need to remove the stickers off the SMS II and Power Base Converter )

You are trying to own every model of every Sega console, right? You still need the original model Saturn, but you're almost there.
