I think the annoyance of animation is when it screams out uselessly in the signature,

There were too many annoying signatures so I went into my profile and turned them off.

I don't care for animated Avatars but do like Pulsar's two guys twisting the dial and Weasel's Dancing Storm Trooper (Please keep it!).

that is reason enough right there to keep my avatar. problem solved. i actually had no idea how to make my own animated gif....and i wanted a god hand one...or a Astro Fighter Sunred one, but now i don't have to worry about that.

If anyone is annoyed by someone's avatar for any reason, and they use Firefox, they can use Ad Block Plus to block that particular image from showing up again. I've done this several times myself on various websites. I bet other web browsers have similar features too.

Ad Block Plus isn't just about ads. It's about customizing the web to suit your needs.
