I don't know the titles. Is that the first Harry Potter game on PS1? If so, then I agree with you. It was actually a lot of fun.

No, its the second one. I hear the first one was good fun as well though.

In no particular order and based off of what I played:

Best:
1. Batman (NES)
2. Super Star Wars series (SNES)
3. Ghostbusters (Xbox 360)
4. Gremlins 2: The New Batch (NES)
5. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Gamecube)

Worst
1. E.T. (Atari)
2. Batman Forever (Genesis & SNES)
3. Back to the Future (NES)
4. Ghostbusters (NES & SMS)
5. Rambo (NES)
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

But they aren't based on film at all. They're based on an idea.
They're based on an idea sourced from film. That's close enough for me.

The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games are incredible. They are movie based, sort of. They are in the same universe as the movies at any rate. Quite a few Star Wars games are really good.

Aladdin on the Genesis/MD is one of the best platformers ever made.

Batman on NES is good. Batman Returns on SNES is a good beat 'em up. Batman Returns on the Sega CD, while not amazing, is at least cool and the driving stages show off what the Sega CD can do.

There is simply not enough love on this thread for Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay (XBOX). That game is awesome.

(There is also not enough hate for Total Recall (NES).)

The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age was pretty decent.

Let's face it, that's not saying much.
I have to agree with both of you there.

Don't worry, I love that game too.

Current-gen Goldeneye

Bottom 5:

Nah, I get ya, it's just my inner nerd wants to say that zero of the events in the KOTR series are mentioned in the all six Star Wars films. I think a role playing game based strictly off of the Star Wars movies could get fairly boring, and I love the direction the designers went, but (and I know this all semantics) KOTR really creates its own universe. I'm picking nits obviously.

Some other games that are nothing like the movie:

Platoon nes
Beetlejuice nes
...Holy shit I own Cliffhanger on sega CD and Gameboy...
Laser Blast atari 2600
Goonies II nes
Temple of Doom nes

As far as a game that sticks straight to the source material, MAXIMUM CARNAGE covers the comic saga almost to a t.

If the team who did Shattered Dimensions made a next gen Maximum Carnage game, that would satisfy all of my nerd needs for the next two years.
