Most Wanted Virtual Console Titles

Post by LoneCynic »

This is a topic to discuss your most wanted Virtual Console titles. Bearing in mind that many licensed titles will never appear, and that you are somewhat constrained by what is reasonable to hope for based on the consoles supported, what games would you most like to see? Perhaps a top five list? Here are my picks:

-Castlevania Dracula X: Rondo of Blood (PC Engine/Turbo Duo)
-MegaMan: The Wily Wars (MegaDrive/Genesis)
-Chrono Trigger (Super Famicom/Super Nintendo)
-Secret of Mana (Super Famicom/Super Nintendo)
-Phantasy Star (Master System)

What about you guys?

Well, Drac X came out already in Japan and SMRPG is coming or is already out. You meant for the US or EU right?

Id like to see them expand in to the realm of handheld games as well. Id love to see:

LoZ: Links Awakening (GBC)
LoZ: Oracle of Ages (GBC)
LoZ: Oracle of Seasons (GBC)
Terranigma (SNES)
Earthbound (SNES)
FFIV and FFVI (SNES)
Sonic CD (Sega CD)

Basically any of these games would make me want to go buy a Wii, if I didnt have all of them already (except Sonic CD)
Consoles Owned: Nintendo SNES, Nintendo GameBoy Color, Nintendo GBA, Sony PSX, PS2, PS3, Sega Master, Microsoft XBox

I really want more vertical shmups for the Wii since I'm not a huge fan of horizontal shooters.

The TurboDuo/PC Engine version of Dracula X is out on the Japan VC already? Did I understand you correctly? Man, if that's the case, then I am seriously starting to feel gyped on VC in North America. Europe just got a bunch of Shooters, including Japanese imports that never came out in Europe or North America before. Europe got MegaMan and MegaMan II, Japan is getting Super Mario RPG, and now you tell me they got what is arguably the best Castlevania game as well already? I don't mind waiting a week or two behind the other regions, but it seems the North American Virtual Console is thining and getting next to nothing as of late. One title a week, and barely anything noteworthy at that.

I am happy that the European gamers are finally getting some awesome stuff first, but I still don't like the fact that we are getting next to nothing compared to the bounty the other regions are receiving.

yes I have been wanting them to put the GB/GBA titles up there too, would be very cool (as long as they let you turn off any kind of filtering (except for maybe the slight motion blur to compensate for jumpiness))

here are my 5:

Garou:Mark Of The Wolves (NeoGeo)
Real Bout Fatal Fury Special 2 (NeoGeo)
Rescue On Fractalus (C64)
Last Blade 2 (NeoGeo)
Gunforce 2 (not sure if it came out on NeoGeo, probably not, but want it anyway :D )

Drac X has been out since 4/22 and SuperMario RPG is coming sometime in June.

I'd really like to see Terranigma come out as well as some more of the rarer PC Engine CD games.
It seems like each region gets their own stuff to be jealous for other regions. Like, the US got Lords and Gate of Thunder before Japan, EU got MegaManII and Japan hasn't yet.

I think my biggest gripe is that there are consoles that don't get titles for the month or some only get one. Like the N64, there are many good games on it but after a year and a half there are what, 11 titles available? That's messed up. Then again, I'm gonna run out of room soon so I'll have to play the game of SD card transfer and shuffle.
