Thank you! I have been waiting for someone to say this for forever! I really hated how everyone was dumping on 13 for supposedly ruining what they love about the series. I started playing 6 and 13 for the first time at the same time recently, and I found them basically the same in terms of linearity and combat complexity initially. FF13 is a good game that takes a while to get going, and I think nostalgia has blinded a lot of people from seeing FF6 was like that too.

I passed on X-2, because I thought ten was horrible. XIII was very enjoyable, and I didn't mind its linearity at the beginning. Maybe I'm a bit more old school, but non-linear games sometimes seem jumbled and watered down to me.

I can't afford a 79.99 price tag, however. lol

I think X-2 is a far more interesting game than X.

I just finished the demo and I have to say that I am cautiously optimistic about this one. Still going to wait for the inevitable price drop though.

Is there more than the boss fight to the demo? I had a chance to play it for a bit earlier but after the boss fight I was in a rush got dumped into some city without me having the chance to read anything about what to do next.

Yeah you are supposed to go after that boss you just fought. His position is on the map (square button on PS3). There are also a few side quests available if you talk to the NPCs. Basically you just get to run around and explore while fighting enemies and collecting monster party members before having to fight that boss again.

I'll have to keep my eyes out for a copy. I suppose any game that doesn't center on Titus can't be that bad.
