Mars Matrix and Giga Wing were made by Capcom not Psikyo. They're still great games though regardless of who made them.
Can anyone else recommend some shooters that will work on MAME? Vertical ones preferably but I do play horizontal ones too.

Oh yes this is exactly the sort of thing I've been looking for.
Nice one, thanks.

i guess i worded it funny, but oh well. Takumi made them and Capcom released them. Psikyo made Gunbird 2 and Cannon Spike and Capcom also released them, guess thats where I got mixed up. But yep. Good stuff.

Has anyone played Dragon Blaze? I snagged a ROM recently for it, and started playing it just now, and I'm pretty much addicted...

Just tried it right now...thanks! I'm always up for some shooting. For some reason I thought you were talking about Blazing Star...anyway it's great too (but horizontal).

I love a good Psikyo shmup. Wish I still had my copies of Gunbird and Gunbird 2. At least I have a copy of Strikers 1945 II whenever I need a fix.

I dig Psikyo, but unfortunately in the states we get stripped down versions of everything. Gunbird masacred into Mobile Light Force? Ugh.

Strikers 1945 was pretty good, though. A local arcade in SLC has Zero Gunner 2 which I play from start to finish every time I go.

The arcade I worked in before it shut down had Strikers 1945, and I played it religiously. It's a fantastic game. Also, recently I revisited Gunbird 2 and it's still just as awesome as I remember it. I can't seem to get past stage 4 on 1 credit; it's difficulty picks up pretty fast on Normal (5). My roommates give me shit for playing them over new games like GTA IV, but to me it's just more fun.
