I bought a couple of gameboy advance SP's off someone for cheap. these were used by some kids, they both run great but have scratches on the screen. one of them also appears to have dust caught under the screen.
Can I fix these by just replacing the lens in each one, or do I need new screens? I have never done any kind of modding before, is this something I can DIY or should I find someone who can fix these?

It should just be the plastic lens that needs replacing. It's very simple to take apart, although you need to start from the bottom of the GBA SP so that you unplug the screen's ribbon cable from the motherboard and so that you unscrew part of the hinge, otherwise you could end up damaging the screen (that is, if you just try to disassemble the top).
A word of warning, though - trying to wipe dust off of the lens or especially the LCD is a REAL pain. You might end up leaving smudges or leaving other bits of dust and potentially making it worse. Then again, I do a lot of my mods in a damn dusty room (the dust just seems to come out of nowhere) but you need to be careful.
