Once Kenshiro is in Southern Cross it starts to feel less filler-y.

After the Jagi part is over (I know you hate spoilers so I won't elaborate much, but you'll know what I mean), no more filler. It could be argued that the Jagi part isn't really filler, but, it always felt kind of off to me. Too short and insignificant of a story segment not to be considered filler for me.

Some guy delivered a message to Kenshiro to go to Southern Cross in the last episode I saw, so yeah sounds like I'm finally almost done with this stuff, haha. Can't wait for it to really take off. I just can't wait for Rei and the others to step in.

The tornado kick attack never gets old. Sometimes the show is unintentionally (I'd figure) hilarious, but it's all fun. Here was how I described 19 to a friend lol:

19 was fucking hilarious. Kenshiro throwing spears at helicopters, then jumping in one and taking control of a guys body piloting it, then he makes the guy crash land into other people blowing up like a nuke (Kenshiro just does his screaming backflip to get out of it), then fighting that sword guy who had the Human Cannonballs, then Kenshiro pushes him into a cannon using him to save kids in a floating blimp. Chain reaction of EPIC!

You still digging Saint Seiya?

Yeah, I've pretty much wrapped up the Sanctuary arc. Gonna play the PS3 game after that, and then polish off the series. Depending on how much I liked it I'll consider going into the OVAs. It's no HnK but it's pretty solid. It's got a unique feel, which is always good.

Yeah, the filler in HnK is kind of like what you said about Saint Seiya. Sure, it's needless filler, but it's filler of the highest caliber, haha. Some of the stuff Kenshiro does in those first 20 or so filler eps is just too much. A lot of the time filler irritates me in plot-based series (don't care about filler in super robot shows obviously), but the HnK filler is gold.

Anyone have thoughts on Senki Zesshou Symphogear? First episode is subbed.

Hmm, I won't say the HnK filler has been amazing or anything but when you put it like that, yeah in comparison to other shows I see nothing wrong with it. It feels a bit stretched out (and I kind of laughed at the recap episode somewhere before 19, I hear HnK has a few of them?), but I guess it really sets you up with how badass Kenshiro is and gives you a great feeling for the atmosphere, which is amazing. Definitely nothing else out there quite like it and I've seen a lot. Kind of like Saint Seiya I guess as you said, it just totally has its own vibe.

And daaaaaamn these DVD's are sexy, can't wait to get have the full collection.

I wouldn't compare the HnK start to Asgard in Saint Seiya though, the filler arc I've told you about after Sanctuary, heh. That is top notch stuff that outdoes the main series itself in many ways, so definitely look forward to it!

What I like about the filler is that every episode is guaranteed to entertain. It's not very good beyond a few ridiculous Kenshiro moments per ep, but the moments are so over the top that it makes up for all the boring-ness. HnK has tons of recap eps, another flaw of the otherwise great series.

If you're liking the unique atmosphere of HnK so far, it gets exponentially better. Like you said, there's really nothing else like it. Although HnK has a lot of recap episodes, I feel that's better than how Saint Seiya handles recaps by making every episode full of flashbacks.

If 19-22 were a hint of things to come then this is going to be amazing. The finale with Shin was incredible. Loved the use of silence throughout most of the episode, just like the original DBZ. :P

@flojocabron

I recently went to a soon-to-be-closed FYE and was surprised to see how high the anime prices still were. Didn't get anything. :?

Anyone else surprised by how much hentai they sell there? :lol:

Guys can someone recommend me an anime with a good (for anime) plot and characters, but which isn't too heavy and "deap". Something to pass the time, but also to have me hooked for what happens next. (Some random examples of what I'm looking for would be Code Geass, Deathnote.....Haruhi Suzumiya?....not sure....anyway, Full Metal Alchemist)
