avrame wrote:Currently rewatching Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood on Hulu (subtitled with Japanese audio) . Probably the 5th time watching the series, but it never gets old. Just having it play in the background at work while I go about my day, gotten to the point that I know what is going on in each scene without listening or reading, so it is good to take a break and look at it from time to time.

Not to mention, I can work/study in complete silence :P
FMA:B just gets nuts for the last third. Somehow every ep manages to have multiple "OH DAMN!" moments in it.

In other news, finally got my hands on the first HnK boxset! I hope bruno is reading, picked back up with episode 14 and damn this is amazing video quality and totally worth it. Can't wait to see more and pickup the other boxsets.
I have the first three boxsets and they have been worth every penny. Discotek did a great job with both the tv show and the movie. I hope they will pick up the new movies at some point. Even if they don''t dub them it would be cool to have those legit in America.
I definitely hope Discotek is just getting started as well. I only watched stuff subbed so I'm all for sub only releases. It's probably cheaper and more risk free, plus the old school market is niche' as it is so I think it'd be the best route to go for a lot of old stuff if they pickup more.

OH MAN!

I'm on a crazy nostalgia trip!

It's like its 1989!

I'm watching Voltron on DVD!

plot is predictable, animation is questionable, dubbing is lacking.

But who cares! Its like its saturday moring all over again.

My brother and I never missed this series and it brings back memories of being kids.

man... good times!

Voltron is good times... lol.

Finally saw the legendary tank scene in HnK that I've heard about, haha. Oh man. I'm almost to the 20's so should be finishing up with this fillerish stuff soon.

Watched the entire Elfen Lied series yesterday/today. Pretty good, but very strange and depressing. Not sure what to make of it yet, I like it but it's not something I'll want to watch again anytime soon.

I have a stack of unwatched DVDs here that I'll get to over the next couple of months: Final Fantasy Unlimited, Last Exile, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ranma 1/2...

Also, some dude it selling 66 anime DVDs on craigslist for $100. Think I might spring for that if it's still there next month. 8)

I tried Fate Zero recently, and found it quite enjoyable. However, even though I was hooked the first day I strangely don't feel really compelled to watch more of it right now :?: .

Other than that I've been digging into Lost Universe lately, and it's pretty good. A little episodic for my tastes, but the characters are amusing enough that progress in the series isn't hard to make.

On an unrelated note, has anyone watched all of Hell Girl? Some people say it's good, but I kind of stopped watching it 3/4 of the way through season one. Does it get better or should I not concern myself with it at this point?

If you like Lost Universe, I'd recommend Slayers if you haven't yet. They're based on light novels by the same author - goofy fun in a fantasy setting. I personally think Lost Universe is the inferior series.

I've seen all of the first season of Hell Girl and I'd wager that what you saw is all there really was. I really liked it, but it doesn't stray far from the formula used in the early episodes from what I remember.

Yeah, I'm a huge Slayers fan and I've been looking into more of Kanzaka's work. I agree that Lost Universe isn't as good as Slayers, but I tried not to expect that going into it.
