-Between generations 5 and 6, I got stuck on Silver Sonic in Sonic 2, a 4th generation game.
-Silver Sonic is a robotic boss in a popular game for a Sega console that comes right before the final boss
-Later in my life, I beat Silver Sonic and reached the actual final boss, who wasn't nearly as hard
-Between generations 7 and 8 (hey, the 3DS is out and the Wii U is in the works), here I am getting stuck on Evila from SC5, a 6th generation game
-Evila is a robotic boss in a popular game for a Sega console that comes right before the final boss

You just need to go to the far left or right while he's targeting you, jump up once to hit him while he's recovering from his jump, then spin dash to the other end of the arena. That's out of reach from both of his possible attacks.
