Together Retro: Lunar Silver Star
I haven't been able to participate due to real life stuff(missed a good bit of the Samurai Shodown too), but I had to ask since it's been years since I played. On the PS1, there were items called "bromides" I believe. I thought they were a hilarious, yet somewhat creepy, addition to the game. Were these in other versions?
That would be awesome! Great idea. And like I said, I'm heading out of town for a couple of weeks after tomorrow so I wouldn't have a chance to play now anyway. But when I come back I'll pester someone for some help. I really do want to finish this game.Ivo wrote:There's more people emulating it (myself included). Perhaps a save state file (rather than a save file) from whoever has reached the Frontier (disc 2) will work?xraydash wrote: I even tried to emulate it on both psx and epsxe because I found a game save at gamefaqs for the beginning of disc 2. I converted the save from a .gme file to .mcr but couldn't get the emulators to see it.
In the PS version (emulated on PSX) I'm still a long way off that part (still in Meribia), so I can't help you - yet. However, if nobody else "helps" you for a while, I'll keep you in mind and bail you out when I finally get there.
** So if any of you PS emulator people think of it, please set aside a save state file after you meet up with the black dragon and head for the Frontier (the end of disc 1). Put it in a folder with love for xraydash and I will be eternally grateful. Thanks!! **

Yeah, I did tons of googling. Looks like disc swapping and loading game saves are problems some people have had emulating psx on the psp. Unfortunately that's not my situation. Thanks though.

Where did everyone go... am I the only one still playing?
I will be taking a break this week because I am going to the Ocean for vacation tomorrow morning.
But an status update - today I just finished the Red Dragon Cave and and am going to cross the newly repaired bridge when I return from vacation.

I'll try to resume the PS version (I have stopped for a bit) and get at least to CD2 to give Xray a hand.SpaceBooger wrote:Where did everyone go... am I the only one still playing?

So, I just finished the game! Yeay! A hell of a game, this one is. It's just too bad that there are so many battles (PSX version) when sometimes all you want to do is to see more of the story. I actually ended up sneaking past most enemies, but later on they became so fast that you can't really escape. On the other hand, if you're of a much higher level than the regular enemies, the roles are reversed and it's them that run away from you! I kid you not, they actually run away when you approach them, although you can still fight if you touch them.
There are also a couple of strange things in the game, like characters that have different hair colours in the game and in the cut-scenes, and the fact that for some reason they seem to always be walking, even when they're standing still the damn feet keep moving. But hey, that's just nitpicking.
The story and the characters are the game's strongest points and they make it worth playing. I actually almost cried in the end or whenever I listen to the main theme (awesome soundtrack, by the way), so this game is definitely something special. Although there's already another Together Retro game coming up (June 18th, if I'm not mistaken), I'm seriously considering to start playing Lunar 2, so you can tell that I really liked this one.

Yes there is. I am playing the PSX version on my PSP with Popsloader. I also have the SegaCD version on my PSP and opted for the PSX version because it looks a lot better and I can use CWcheat to help me get through it quicker. I play RPG's for the story not random battles!!marurun wrote:I'm on the ship bound overseas from SAITHE in the GBA version and I kinda trailed off and haven't gone further on the Sega CD version. I'd be playing the PSX version except... I don't like emulating it on PC and I have trouble tying up the TV too long these days.
Is there any good quality portable emulation solution for the PSX, just in general?
The PSP does allow for disc changing as well for games with multiple discs. It's awesome. You do need custom firmware to do this however.
