I got flat first class things out and PMd people yesterday since those fit in blue drop boxes. The box first class I couldn't send out despite getting postage because at 3 different post offices, the drop chutes were full or broken. :|

I had a case of the fails this morning and didn't get up to go do the parcel post and international packages this morning. :( I'm going to try on my lunch break, else tomorrow morning.

It just cost me $34 to send stuff to Canada that only made $19.50 in the auction. All of the other heavy stuff I sent today cost more than they earned too. Last year the Metroid artwork fetched a good bit, but first and this year I spent way more on postage than items fetched in the auction. It is very discouraging. I think next year I'm only going to bother with any artwork or super spiffy items I can come up with. :|

*edit*

I'm frustrated because I could have spent less money and time, kept items, and still have ended up contributing more to charity. :?

Who donated the above item which I won? I'm wondering if the magazines could be sent in one shipment in order to reduce the shipping cost for the person who donated them. If the cost difference is insignificant, then I'm ok with the monthly option. I'm also ok with sending them by media mail if desired. I think magazines qualify for this, right?

No they do not. The only printed matter that counts are books. :?

Hobie, you get me nice Metroid artwork, and I'll pay more to Racketboy's charity of choice than it'll cost for you to ship it.

While true, I don't believe they really check. If you have mostly books and throw in a couple magazines, I'd wager a small amount that you could get away with it.

Yeah, I'm just going to hopefully do art for next year. And not put it off until it's late.

They ask at my post office. I'm not going to lie to them, nor would I risk having it sent back.

i did. i'll probably just ship them first class. i'd like to ship them one at a time if that's okay. if you get tired of that in a couple months just lemme know and i'll ship 'em out all at once. it's going to be costly regardless.

suggestion for next year: reserves or opening bids based upon weight and average shipping cost. could help keep the number of quality items high as well as the amount donated.

Hobie-wan, are you the one sending the key board up to me? If so how much did it cost to ship it?

Ok, that's fine. Thanks for generously donating the items and doing this. I'll be happy to give you some money to help cover the shipping costs if you send me your paypal addy.
