That's what I thought, just making sure.
My post still stands.
Just confirming is all.

Make sure you don't accidentally delete the old good backup vlame.

Savemiifrii skips the system menu and starts the disk that is in the wii's drive. So put a disk in the wii, and then turn it on while holding down all 4 sides of a gamecube controller's dpad. You might have to take the controller apart.

If the indiana pwns save is already on the wii you should be able to use savemiifrii to load the indy game and then do the exploit to load an application.

If the save isn't on the wii already, you don't have a way to get it there, if you have no system menu and no bootmii boot2. You'll have to use the stack smash exploit then.

The stack smash exploit does not involve the system menu at all. It exploits the stage creator in brawl, which means you can load the exploit/hack stage right off the SD card. You can use savemiifrii to start up brawl and then use stack smash to run an application. I don't know of another exploit that doesn't rely on the wii menu. If you don't have brawl maybe someone would lend it to you temporarily.

Whichever exploit you use, load the application I linked to earlier to load bootmii IOS, which I assume you have installed. It can do all the backing up and restoring. Make sure you don't overwrite the old good backup or the new backup. Make backups of the backups!

The restore will probably take a long time. If the power goes off during it you're probably toast.

After the restore, nothing done after the restore backup was made will be remembered. Saves will be reverted and you won't be able to redownload VC or Wiiware stuff purchased after the restore backup was made.

Do I need a modchip in order to use SaveMii?
Not necessarily. You will need a modchip so that the Wii will accept a custom-made “autoboot” disc with your recovery tools on it. However, even without a modchip, newer versions of the Wii system software (3.0+) will try to install any valid update that is present on any legit Wii disc you attempt to boot with SaveMii. In some cases, this will be enough to let you install a newer System Menu and recover your console.
so i got this far. indy lego 1 doesn't load up but the "4.3(USA)" fades away. when i put in flingsmash it reads it for awhile but doesn't do anything except let the "4.3(USA)" fade.

how i made it worse:
https://sites.google.com/site/completesg/unbricking

Full brick
- Cause: uninstalling (c)IOS or system menu, or theme/banner brick.
- Symptoms: Will not load system menu. Maintenance mode fails.

Required:
* NUS Downloader
* Wad manager (or YAWMM)
* Preloader/Bootmii as boot2 (note: priiloader will only work if you set it to use another IOS than the removed one before the brick!)

Guide:
1. Run NUSD and check pack->wad. Now download the wads of all files you deleted.
2. Copy the wads of each folder to the wad folder on the SD card (empty the folder if it exists already)
3. Boot into preloader or Bootmii and launch the Homebrew Channel

4. Run the wad manager and install every wad.
mauifrog's questions:
1-And when you turn the wii on, what happens? Does it boot directly to a black screen? Does it boot to the health and safty screen, then give black screen? Does it boot to error? Does it boot to the health and safety screen and then give error?
A:black screen.

2-Have you tested the wii for priiloader function?
A:Had.

3-Do you happen to have boot2 bootmii?
A: I think it was the bad option, my friend's had the better option.

4-How old is the wii?
A: serial starts with LU63, The Wii has a RVL-001(USA) model number and is produced for Mexico/Canada/USA. The copyright year is 2006.

5-Does it play backup dvds or only usbloading?
A: Both

6-Did you ever install darkcorp/cioscorp or follow my softmod guide?
A: I used the mauifrog guide

7-Do you have a modchip?
A: No.

thanks if you can offer any help.

If you have bootmii boot2 the drive LED should blink a few times when you start the wii with no sd card inserted. Does it?

no it is not boot2. so my first step in fixing it is acquiring a triwing screw driver and reseating the BT module.

without a disc or SD card it flashes once.
