Best blog website and best tool for recording games

Post by Jrecee »

I know of google's blogspot but what else is out there? And what's the best program for recording games off-screen? I see a lot of speed runs/lets plays/whatever that are blurry as hell.

For recording high quality footage off screen pick up a set top DVD recorder. I have a Pioneer brand and it has composite, s-video, and component inputs. It records straight to a DVD and you can take that footage to your computer and do what ever you want with it.

The best blogging website would be Google's own blogger. Fraps is the choice of most people for recording videos.

Sorry, I meant just for recording windowed games on PC.

I'll check that one out.

Wordpress is pretty popular and a step up from google's blogspot imo.

retrosportsgamer also knows what he's talking about. He self-hosts a WordPress install that is also in the retro sports genre. The only problem with this approach is for maximum potential, a WordPress distribution MUST be self-hosted. WordPress.com (similar to blogger) only allows for some of the functionality.

Right - definitely a difference. Racketboy actually uses a self-hosted WordPress distribution if you read the main articles on the site (uses WordPress for comments).

I will probably go with wordpress. I might use their domain name option, but beyond that I'm going with a blog because it's free and easy to get going. I just need a place to post updates on my game and link press to besides a facebook/youtube page.
