Games you have bought for weird reasons
This isn't too weird but the main reason I bought Ephemeral Fantasia is because I like the word ephemeral

Bought Hyperdimension Neptunia and Otomedius Excellent for the hot chicks.
Bought a copy of Drakengard once I noticed it was the Canadian version.
Bought a copy of Frogs and Flies for the Atari 2600 because the owner of the local retro game store is always comparing shitty modern games to it ("I can't believe people are stick playing those Call of Duty sequels, I'd rather play Frogs and Flies than that garbage!").

Sometimes I'll buy a game... just because it has a pretty cover

I bought Cabela's Dangerous Hunts because I thought I should branch out in my gaming tastes (all I was playing before was FPSs, racers and 3D platformers.) I discovered that I was better off staying in my small world than playing that piece of turd.

When I saw Ninja Spirit for TurboGrafx-16, I thought it was Sengoku for Neo-Geo because for some reason I was under the impression that Sengoku was released on TurboGrafx-16 and I bought it. Glad I did, Ninja Spirit may not be Sengoku, but it's one of my favorite TurboGrafx-16 game. I just wish my TG-16 was still working.

Bought the horrible "Jack Nicklaus Turbo Golf CD" for TurboGrafx because I'm always incrementing my collection and it has been an amazingly HTF "common" game. For that reason it's my favorite crap golf game.

Nothing weird about this.ninjainspandex wrote:otomedius excellent, they had big boobs....
The most illogical reason I can recall for a game purchase is from when I was very young. I went with my mother to the department store in search of Gauntlet for the NES. It was not there, but of course I just had to buy something. I ended up buying a game called Dragon Power simply based on the box art.
Selling half my NES/SNES/PS1 collection (ending Dec 1):
