Gameboy Advance SP won't charge.
Gameboy Advance SP won't charge.
I have a new battery and have multiple chargers. The battery charges in my other GBA SP so I don't think the battery is a problem. Is there something wrong with the unit itself? Is it an easy fix?

Is the charging light illuminating when attempting to charge it? Your chargers & battery are known good, but I just wondered if the GBA power plug socket might have an issue.
Also, if you charge the battery in the other system will it work in your problem GBA? If not, check battery position & contacts.

The charging light will not illuminate in the non charging GBA.Jontendo wrote:Is the charging light illuminating when attempting to charge it? Your chargers & battery are known good, but I just wondered if the GBA power plug socket might have an issue.

I can't remember if a GBA SP can run purely from the AC adapter or not, but if so this would be a way to help rule out the socket.itsmattxp wrote:The charging light will not illuminate in the non charging GBA.Jontendo wrote:Is the charging light illuminating when attempting to charge it? If it's dead even with a freshly charged (in the other GBA) battery, then there's another (or perhaps additional) problem.
Just a couple things worth checking.

I think he power socket port is broken. Is there anyway to fix it?Jontendo wrote:I can't remember if a GBA SP can run purely from the AC adapter or not, but if so this would be a way to help rule out the socket.itsmattxp wrote:The charging light will not illuminate in the non charging GBA.Jontendo wrote:Is the charging light illuminating when attempting to charge it? A likely way for it to break would be if one or more of the solder joints got broken by having the cord yanked while it was plugged in. I can't remember offhand how accessible the solder points are as everything is crammed tight in there. Worth a look though.
