Gaming Goals:
- Beat some classic point 'n' click adventures
- Whittle down my unbeaten Final Fantasy and Sonic the Hedgehog games.
- Try out a few classic home computer games on my Amiga and Commodore 64.
- Beat at least half of the games up for Together Retro this year!
- Have 4 or Less unbeaten games per system on my backloggery before my Birthday (Dec. 24th).

Collecting Goals
- Buy at least one new game for all of the following systems: NES, SNES, Xbox, PS2, Mega Drive, Dreamcast, Commodore 64, Amiga, Turbografx.
- Buy a whole bunch of cheap DS games while the prices are low (This should be easy )
- Acquire one or two new consoles from this list: PSP, Mega CD, Wonderswan color, Atari 2600.

I have the following games on my queue for the year:
Phantasie and Questron series from SSI
Fallout 3 (finally, lol)
Final Fantasy X and X2, made lots of progress on the PS2 RPG library over the past couple years.

I've also been playing Castle Wolfenstein and Pirates! casually.

I didn't get much gaming done in 2011, so I guess my goal is to complete at least a game a week (Unless it's a game that requires more time than I can afford in a given week) in 2012.

I'd also really like to buy a new gaming PC this year, which I guess is more a financial goal than a collecting one, but yeah.
I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes.

1. Continue to train daughter number 1 in Mario games. She for the first time made it to the mountain top where the bomb-omb king is in Mario 64. She was so happy.

2. Seal the deal and purchase MK2 and Killer Instinct dedicated cabs. I've had both in my grasp at a good price only to have the seller back out last minute... This happened twice in 2011.

3. Get my wife to play and beat FF4 and FF6. This is basically not going to happen though. She's a non-gamer. :(

Gaming Goals:
1. I think I'd actually like to play some more DS or 3DS games as I'm kind of excited about my recent 3DS purchase. I may also explore the Wii library a bit more. I have a copy of Muramasa The Demon Blade that I'm looking forward to playing and I may want to try a light gun shooter or too.
2. I would like to buy and play through all of the Mega Man Zero games or just the Mega Man Zero Collection for the DS at some point
3. At some point, I'd like to get all the PS 3 trophies in Batman Arkham City for a full Platinum since I'm a Batman freak. I love that game, it's my game of the year(though there's still 1 or 2 games from 2011 I haven't finished yet including the awesome Sonic Generations). There's too much optional shit to do in that game though. It took me forever just to get all the Riddler trophies and now I have tons of stealth challenge maps and campaign challenge maps left to do for four playable characters. Jesus Rocksteady, overkill.
4. I already know that when I get my copy of Final Fantasy XIII 2 I will have to do everything there is to do in the game and get the Platinum trophy. That's just how I roll with Final Fantasy games
5. I don't know if this really fits as a gaming goal, but I may explore the various fitness programs on the Wii. I got a very affordable copy of EA Sports Active 2 that I plan on making use of this year. Exercising is one of those things I want to start doing again, but have difficulty finding motivation for. Plus, I don't like gyms. So I figure since I'm a gamer, I'll explore this route. If that doesn't work, then I'm trying P90X or just buying a damn treadmill for the house
6. It's been a while since I've played a Dynasty Warriors game. I love the series, but they pump out so many damn entries that I had to take a break from it after DW 5. Maybe I'll pick up DW 7 at some point or try one of those Sengoku Basara games from Capcom for something a little different
7. Find some fellow gamers to play games with and discuss games with. I like the racketboy community, but I need to find some local gamers and I'm not interested in the Call of Duty/Halo/every single shooter that comes out crowd or the casual, we love Wii party games/dance games/shovelware crowd either
8. Educate myself more. There's always more to learn, and tons of interesting articles on racketboy and hardcore gaming 101 that I haven't read
9. I've talked to racketboy about doing some more beat'em up articles. So I hope to find time for that and hopefully come up with some articles that are more polished and refined than what I've done before. There's really not enough stuff out there covering beat'em up games beyond the games that everyone knows about(Final Fight, Streets of Rage, Double Dragon, etc.)

Collecting Goals:
1. I really like the cartridge format, so I'm kind of interested in collecting more DS and 3DS games and I may resume my collecting of complete in box Super Nintendo games at some point as well. I still want to get my hands on a CIB, good condition copy of Mega Man X 3
2. That's pretty much it for gaming collecting goals, as I'm starting to get more interested in comic books. I'm looking to pick up more Batman graphic novels, trades and comic issues this year and maybe grab every issue of that Joss Whedon Astonishing X-Men run. Plus, seeing as I was given books 1 and 2 of the Walking Dead hardcover trades for Christmas, I'll probably be regularly picking up that series as well. I'm already hooked on the tv show

Gaming goals:

Match scores on House of the Dead 2, Confidential Mission, and Virtua Cop 2 on Dreamcast to that of my past arcade performances.

Do better on the shmups I do play. This includes increasing difficulty, and using less bombs/lives/continues. I know I won't be able to single credit any of them without practice

Participate (and hopefully complete) all the games in this year's Together Retro.

Collection goals:

To get at least *1* more import game for my Dreamcast this year. It can be either Japanese or European, and I'm REALLY hoping it can be a good shmup.

Aside from an import, any other American-released game that would be reasonably hard to find, for my Dreamcast.

I don't see any new consoles in my future, but certainly hope to round out the DC collection a little more, and to aim and do better in shmups this year :)
