Sega Saturn game recommendations
So i was searching for a mod Saturn. Couldnt find one so purchased a Saturn and i just finished the mod myself. Of course on my first boot up was a fail. I had the wires mixed up signal wire where power wire should go lol...Then i broke off one of the wires from the mod chip lol..
Anyways its all done and i loaded up and successfully played Batman Arcade. Although i am a Sega Fan Boy i sorta skipped over the Saturn as back then i was tail chasing instead of playing video games. Anyways, any games anyone can recommend. I mostly enjoy action, shooters and dont particular care for games that require dungeon exploring or searching for keys, maps and potions. Thanks and Happy New Year to all.

I saw a question like this somewhere else and a lot of people said "shooters" are not the Saturn's forte. But to answer your question, if you like arcade games and don't mind rail shooters then I'd say House of the Dead, Virtua Cop, Virtua Cop 2, and Area 51 are fun even if you don't have a light gun. As far as FPS I honestly have no idea and the only one I've played on the Saturn is Duke Nukem which in my opinion feels a lot better on the N64.

NiGHTS: Into Dreams
It's the entire reason I bought a Saturn.

Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Hmm Harper Shooters(space shooters) was the main reason i went through all the trouble of getting getting a Saturn and then putting a mod chip on it.

Ah, ok. Space shooters might be a different story. But I don't have any first-hand experience with any on the Saturn. Sorry for being not at all helpfulbacardipr05 wrote:Hmm Harper Shooters(space shooters) was the main reason i went through all the trouble of getting getting a Saturn and then putting a mod chip on it.

Re: Sega Saturn game recommendations
I've heard from so many Saturn fans that the Japanese library has a much larger selection of great games than the U.S. library. But I'm not the guy to ask about those, I know absolutely zero Japanese and I like to understand my games, so I only own and have only played U.S. games. So that's why these are U.S. only games I'm recommending:
Fighting Games:
-Marvel Super-Heroes
-Mortal Kombat Trilogy
-Street Fighter: Alpha
-X-Men: Children of the Atom
On-Rails Shooters:
-Area 51
-House of the Dead
-Panzer Dragoon
-Panzer Dragoon: Zwei
-Virtua Cop 1 & 2
Platformers:
-Gex
-Mega Man 8
-Mega Man X4
-Shinobi: Legions
Shoot-Em Ups:
-Darius Gaiden
-Galactic Attack
Other:
-Resident Evil

Re: Sega Saturn game recommendations
Already recommended, but I second "Darius Gaiden" for shooters. I thought the flying fish & opera music made for a very unique experience.
Astal is a great platformer, as is Mr.Bones. I liked Clockwork Knight also (though I may be in slim company on this one). Other greats have already been mentioned above.
