Best case, if you buy the figures in three-packs, and Activision releases the second wave with at least two three-packs:

1x Starter Set & game @ $70
4x Adventure Packs @ $20 each
5x Three-packs @ $20 each
10x Individual packs @ $8 each

That's $330 total for the complete collection.
^Not anymore :/

My kids are hooked on this game, it is not only playable for the 5yo-35yo crowd, it is enjoyable AND most importantly, replayable.

Sadly, I made the mistake of thinking the figures would be clearanced at 50% in the days after Christmas - it has been the opposite, they are impossible to find. Some of the store exclusives and rare-ish figures are catching upwards of $30+.

I hit 2 targets, 2 walmarts, 1 K-mart, Best Buy (NOTHING in stock) and all the online shops and can't find any characters we need for under $15 shipped.

Are these being re-released? Or are we stuck to the ebb and flow of ebay now?

Looks like the $4.99 deal is mostly dead. Hopefully they'll restock more soon.

Yes, that deal was over the following day.

Not a bad hack-n-slash. Menus and text are a little low-budget. Voice acting is good. The portal is "neat". I definitely won't buy all the toys but I might buy enough to unlock all areas and consider the price like an old school expansion pack. The game is targeted young but - and perhaps I shouldn't admit this! - I still didn't find all the treasures on the first play through of the first couple levels. This isn't really my genre but it does what's it's trying to pretty well, I guess. Here's hoping the environmental puzzles get harder [do the turtles always have the arrows on their backs?]

The puzzles get slightly more difficult, yes, the moveable objects always have arrows.

Yeah I've been dying to pick this up, just been waiting for a good price on the starter pack, as $70 is a bit high for a broke college student that needs to buy retro games!

So if anyone has some for sale, you let me know! I wanna play with toys dammit!

I discovered the game via a thread on NeoGAF. I did stumble across a few of the CGR videos later when I was watching Guitar Hero reviews.

The official Facebook feed claims that new figures are scheduled to hit stores in "mid-January". I'm not sure if this will be all of the missing 10 figures, or just 2-3 like last time.

My local stores are totally bare of figures. EB, Best Buy, Walmart, Futureshop… the display is there and empty.

Umm, i'm more than sure this was the most advertised game of the year, it was in EVERY black friday ad and I saw about 6,500 commercials on the shows my kids watch - it was marketed hard toward young kids, so yeah, no forum or thread did a whole lot in the way of sales.

So are any of the figures rare?

On Ebay, I'm seeing a lot of people selling the 3DS game, portal separately for about $15-$20. The 3DS game pack comes with Ignitor, Stealth Elf, and Dark Spyro. Looks like Ignitor & Stealth Elf are in high demand which is probably why people are doing this.

My youngest daughter (8) has been playing the game on the PS3 for the past week. She loves it and wants me to buy more figures. I do enjoy watching her play the game.
