I'm very fond of this game as well, love everything about it. The overpriced DLC is a kick where it hurts but definitely a solid run n gun, wish Arc Systems would take a break from shitting out BlazBlue rehashes and make some more great games like this one.Gamerforlife wrote:Hard Corps Uprising feels like a proper Contra game, but with a more anime aesthetic. I LOVE playing a Contra game with an upgrade system. That's pretty cool
What are you playing?
Re: What are you playing?
Playing the No More Heroes enhanced PS3 port. I've played No More Heroes II on the Wii but never the first one. So far I quite like it just as I thought I would, not sure if I like the first one or the second one more yet. I love the boss fights though, great music too (this is to be expected of Takada though).

Re: What are you playing?
I played a little bit of Skyrim. I may play it off and on again given the glut of games I got this holiday. I think it has a more interesting and better start than Oblivion. Pulled me into the game pretty quickly. Pretty gorgeous looking game too.
I still don't like the melee combat, which was a turn off for me in Oblivion. Nothing feels solid or impactful and it seems rather awkward. However, because I want to really give this game a chance after having previously given up on Oblivion, I'm going to do something I don't usually do in games-go for a mage character. I figure it can largely get rid of my biggest issue with these Elder Scroll games. I can just try to avoid the melee stuff as much as possible and focus on ranged fighting with magic. Seems like killing stuff in this game is probably more fun with magic anyway. I'm usually a very, in your face, melee guy but this will be a refreshing change
I played a little bit of Starfox 64 3D too. I was worried about how well the analog nub would work for a game like this, but it seems pretty accurate and responsive. Don't know if I can play with that 3D effect though, it feels disorienting. I'm so very glad 3D is optional in this games

Lodestar,
Are you at the section where you're driving along the coast in a souped up dune buggy? I never did get to finish HL2, but that had to be one of my favorite sections. Just something about being all on your own, coming up on houses that may or may not be full of baddies..the way the gunshots and sounds would echo..It actually stressed me out a little bit when I played through there.
Right now, I'm playing some Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I've been trying my best to be sneaky sneaky, but it seems like I always end up having to resort to good old fashioned gunplay to get out of most situations. Still a fun game though.

RyaNtheSlayA,
I've never been particularly good at stealth games, so it's probably just my lack of skills causing me to have to shoot everyone.
