Watched Scanners earlier. Taking it in context of when it came out I thought it was pretty good. Also I know no where the Skinny Puppy "Brothers should be close, don't you think?" and FSOL "I can hear myself" samples came from.

The Patriot
Or as I'd like to call it: Braveheart: Colonial Edition. Good film-making, but suspension of belief is necessary as is with most pseudo-historical movies.

Saving Private Ryan
For a pre-HD war movie SPR looks absolutely striking in HD. The Spielberg-Kamiński collaboration really made this film a spectacle to behold.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
This movie surprised me when I watched it. From the description it sounded like your run of the mill mystery - but it's pretty damn hilarious and clever. Downy Jr. and hell, even Val Kilmer, were both really great in their roles. I mean any movie that has drunken robots, human candy-canes, and gay detectives is worth it for me.
The plot itself was a little difficult to follow at times and it moves pretty fast. Overall though I thought it was pretty solid - something I might watch again.

This could also be titled "Product Placement: The Movie".OldSchool_Boy wrote:The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
CHARLOTTE'S WEB (animated). This movie, as is the book, is simply a timeless treasure. Much like March of the Penguins, Web is able to help children understand how death is necessary for others' lives to continue. Plus Templeton is awesome.

I saw this at the movies... How about when the dude gets his leg blown off with the canon ball?? Pretty sweetPulsar_t wrote:The Patriot
I saw this at the movies too. My friends and I were about 13. They wouldn't let us in without an adult, so luckily my dad agreed to come get us in. He reckons I was as white as a ghost during the siege of Omaha beach! I watched it again about a year and a half ago and I really enjoyed it again. I'd love to clip off the sappy cemetary parts at the start and the end, kind of cheapens the whole experiencePulsar_t wrote:Saving Private Ryan

Besides the red Coke cans that stick out, I couldn't really remember any other piece of product placement.Luke wrote:This could also be titled "Product Placement: The Movie".OldSchool_Boy wrote:The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)

I feel like I will too. I've loved the majority of Fincher's work.OldSchool_Boy wrote: I thought it was great.
